I have a set of 36mm cv carbs that came of an 1100.

Has anyone used these on a 750?

If so, what kind of jetting will get me close?

My bike is running K & N pod filters with a full race pipe.

My current set up wih the stock 34mm carbs, dynajet stage 3 kit with 142 mains

Most people just take the BST36SS off the 90-91 750's since they're a lot closer to correctly jetting from the start.

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159718 the carb thread has the base settings for a factory 91 750 with 36mm carbs, thats probably a good ballpark starting figure that you would richen up accordingly for your pods and and exhaust. :)

My standard 87 750 came with some BST36SS on it with a dynajet kit, unifilters and different can on it and went really well, until a float failed and stuffed the engine anyhow.

34's should have a bit more response but less top end accordingly.

I have 36's on my '92 US 750 with pods and race system. Slightly different motor, but I fitted a factory-pro jet kit for '88-89 750's running 120 mains (mikuni/factory-pro size, don't know what the dynojet equivalent is??), 2.5 turns out, needle position second clip from the top. Mine runs great with this setup. That should get you pretty close. Good luck.

I ran a set on a 92 motor for short track events had better bottom end than the 38s. I posted some time ago what I had in them last using a DJ stage 3 kit, twin KN pods, heat shield, miled clean up job on the ports. If I cant find it in a search I will look again at home.

FOund the post:

Ok I found them. I do not remember where I was going with this setup but it was a race setup. Also I do not remember what fuel this was for but be my guest to give it a try.

Main 140
Needle second groove from top
Only plastic spacer under clip washer on top
Pilot 32.5
A/F 3turns out
No airbox
KN filters oval 2 carb type
Yosh heat shield
Do not remember what pipe

Hope it helps
Let me know what you are starting with.

Fruitloops,

A guy on Aus-Streetfighters has a couple sets of 36mm carbs in bits if you are interested. Dirt cheap too.

I have a spare set of 36 CVs off of a 89 750 I think. I've been using them as parts doners over the years but most parts and of course the bodies are still there. I have no use for the bodies if somebody wants them I may find a way to separate myself from them.
