I decided it would be fun and blow the motor of my 94 rf600

Anyone know what motors would be compatibleor semi-compatible to my frame?

does the rf600 engine have any front engine mounts on the case? If i remember the rf900 attached to frame via head/block I think. No front engine mounts.
if your skilled at rebuilding I believe now a 750 engine with your 600 head would fit. ( even a 600 engine ). Pop over onto ronayers, look at microfiche for both the rf600, and a gsxr 600 engine. see if mounting points have places in common.
I'd check but I have my own issues lol

Yes it should fit:) On my Rf900 engine there are mounts in the front just like on the oil cooled engines but the mounts aren't used since the RF doesn't have a cradle.
I've looked at it for a while since I'm going to use my RF900 engine in my bandit frame.

Just out of curiosity, are they still using side draft heads on the newer gsxr's?
I thought downdraft was a better design?or should I say newer:)
I read somewhere that it was easier to gain more power with an angled intake?

yea they are downdraft.. and suppose it is better design, more of a straight shot. cooler air, and allows better ram air type.
As far as the rf engine into gixxer frame, yea the downdraft head would be an issue, but using a 1100/750 head would be fine and in some cases beneficial.

why not rebuild your motor? just rebuilt mine. actually today i'll be firing it up. '94 rf 600 r. simple engine, lots of satisfaction due to the diy factor. lots of money spent on tools but hey, passion costs! :) greetings from romania!

p.s. if you've never rebuilt an engine, get the manual and look at least three times before undoing something. it will pay off.
