I'd contact someone like KWS and see if they can help you source an engine. You'll be rolling the dice with used engines no matter what, but they will know who isn't out to screw you.
I've had good luck with parts from an ebay seller: "MotorcycleContact". No engine, but bought a frame, fork, and wheel from them.

Do you still have your old motor? Maybe it can be saved. Those 04 and 05 motor are getting scary expensive to buy used for good ones. Two year production run is to blame.
