I can't figure out what you are describing. Why don't you just put your legs in front of the pegs at lights, I can't imagine how the hell you're sitting that your legs are all the way back there.

this ain't me by the way, but look at where the pegs are in relation to how he's standing

different bike ~ i have noticed what she's talkin about on the k5, but just put my legs out further (but then again, i doubt you're 6'2"). I dont know any pegs that are blunt at the end, but i'd imagine some round knurled ones would be better... try em out, its only like $20 for a pair

I just got my k5 last week and i noticed the same thing. I wrecked my 05 zx10 about a month ago. I tried to get on it one last time before the insurance people came to pick it up and I rested my foot down and i fell over on the bike, but when i fell over the fairing ripped off most of the skin off my calf. So yesterday i went ridding on the k5 and when i swung my leg over it hit the peg and butsted my calf open again(it sucked ass). I gotta say that the k5 for me is a better bike all around than the zx10. But like faster than u said i am constantly hitting my leg on the peg(only bike i've ever been on that i've had this problem with). Is it just me or do the pegs seem to be closer to the front

I've got a K4 with Vortex adjustables (mounted all the way back and up), but then again, i'm 6'2". I couldn't even begin to describe how those bad boys would tear up skin, ever just grabbed ahold of the pegs on the Vortex's, feel like thousands of microscopic razors.
