My wife bought me an Icon Contra in black. Build quality is great, though the real test is always if it ever has to save my ass (hopefully I never find that out). Seeing as how my helmet, gloves, and boots are all black and white, it goes well with all of it.

She's awesome. :grin2:

Good luck with the Icon gear ruenin;that brand definitely does not have a good reputation with hardcore riders

I've heard poor things about icon, but I do owe the brand my life, in my crash my icon helmet protected me without an issue, for what it's worth. Just my two cents. I have no experience with any of their other gear, just the helmet.

I almost bought that jacket except there weren't any local stores that had my size in stock. I ended up going with the Rev'it GTR Air Jacket though and I love it. But congrats on the gift!! They're all better than nothing at all.

The jacket is the only Icon piece of gear I own. I've got A* Thunder gloves, A* SMX-1 boots, and a Shark Speed-R Avenger helmet. In the event that I should ever crash, I don't expect a mesh jacket to hold up beyond protecting me the one time. I realize it's not as good as leather, but as a vegan, what can I really do? Until a reasonable alternative comes out, this will do nicely.

Here's my helmet

@ruenin

how do you like the internal sun visor feature?
I wear glasses, and I hate contacts, so it's really my only option. That's not at all to say I don't like it; I do. I actually think it's pretty cool. Looks like a fighter pilot HUD helmet. That said, all things being equal, I'd rather have an iridium coated shield that I could swap out, but only because I like the look. Functionally, the internal visor works perfectly.
