I have a 2004 GSXR 600 track bike that I am trying to get dialed in. I have a Penske dbl on the back and have it set at 335mm eye to eye (about 3mm higher than stock) and the front forks are flush in the clamps.

I feel like it spins up the rear a little too easily on corner exit, but this may be because my compression is to high.

Does anybody have experience setting these bikes up? The main thing I want to know is what is a good starting point for front and rear height.

We used to run the front forks flush and a 5mm spacer under the shock clevis.

If the rear is spinning up, it could be due to your rebound settings being too fast. Is the rear pogoing?

Thanks for the reply. It is kind of tough to find info on this year model. I have the rear at 21 clicks out on rebound (I think there are 30 total clicks, its the old generation Penske). I think I have the clickers pretty well dialed, I just haven't found the sweet spot on geometry. I think Im gonna take it to GMD over winter to get some real numbers on trail, rake, etc.

Did you ever race on the k4/k5? I want to use this year model because it will be eligible for vintage V8 next year.

No, but I tracked a K3 1000, which used a very similar setup to the K4/K5 600/750 according to the people I raced with.

when you say front forks flush are you taking about flush with the ring which is about 5 mils down on the forks or the top of the fork ( above that ring)

Im interested in this as well because im building a track bike the same year and I have a newer double clicker on the rear but undecided on a fork set up yet.

The top cap of the fork flush with the top of the triple.

On mine (I worked with Max McAllister on my setup), I run 3mm of shim in the rear and the top of the fork tube even with the top clamp. The only thing out of the clamp is the fork cap.
