I have a 97 750 and do not have the original thermostat to find a cheap replacement.
Has anyone found a car thermostat that works? If not is there anyone out there that has one laying around and can give me the measurements?

I am really cheap. But I am trying to get one tomorrow and no one has one has them in stock.
None of the three Suzuki dealers near me seem to ever have the parts I need.

I think it is the way of the world that nobody wants to put inventory on the shelves.

However, I have never had to wait more then a couple of days for the parts.

Why would a dealership stock a thermostat for a 17 year old bike that Suzuki is discontinuing parts for? Are you serious?

Luckily over here we have a very large dealer in Bristol who all the local dealers get their parts from. Usually they get them next day if its over the lower threshold for the order.

I did not know they were discontinuing parts for the bike. That sucks. And yes I am serious, it is not that big of a deal, it just surprises me that no one has any parts in stock for it. I figured Suzuki would have made their parts a little more universal. (Same thermostat for more years) I understand why the shops would not stock these parts but I find it funny the manufacture does not use the same part more often so the shops stock can cover a larger year range.

Sure it is, would you invest your money whet it turns, or invest it in a thermostat for a 17 year old bike, a part that no one asks for, a bike that no one but me in a town of 100k population (and I am the dealer gm) has, would having that pissy on the shelf turn itself over and generate a profit, or would you spend your money and stock other parts? Now multiply that question times three lines of product every year, over say 50 different models per manufacturer, over the lifetime of the owners....

chris how much does it cost to stock a part?? i figured for the reasons you mentioned dealers no longer have huge stock rooms of parts. It got to cost money to have a part sitting on a self that someone may never buy. anything i have to go to the dealer for is a wait. they put in 2 orders a week tuesday and friday at noon not 12:01 noon. so if ya miss them on tuesday your order sits till friday. stuff ordered on tuesday usually is in on friday. so really a 3 day wait isnt bad.

My local Suz dealer will have any part in 3 days . When you
Look for some of the stuff I do
And you get a turn around that fast I consider it a good service,

Patience is the fundamental courner stone of life so if it takes. 3 days so what .

Can I ask where you got that list? I could not find that information.

It fitting that many bikes I am also surprised that the demand for it is that low.
www.cyclepartsnation.com has a part number lookup function.

Find the part number on the fiche.

Go back a few pages and enter the p/n in the lookup function.

It pops up with the description and price and on the far right click on "where used"
