Issues with running a 190 on 5.5 inch rim

I do not want to start a debate about only to run factory spec tire sizes, because I have always ran a 180/55 on my rear. However I have a friend who has a set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsas for sale brand new for $225 bucks, however the rear tire is a 190/55. My bike is a L1 600, will I have any issues running that tire on the rear?

I have at the moment rossa corsa's on my 600, the rear tire is 180/60 and it should be 187mm wide actually (according to info I've on the net)

To answer your question if it ever becomes a problem again, you would be perfectly fine with a 190/55. Most 190 tires are made for a 5.5" rim as well as a 6" rim. All I run is 190's on my bike for the bigger contact patch. I run GPA's. I've even run the WSBK slicks which are 195/65 with no issues. Me personally, I like the taller profile of the 60-65 tires better than the 55 for the quicker turn in. It's all up to you.

I put Michelin SuperSport 190/55 on my 600, it looks & handles weird despite I slightly lowered rear end (haven't taken it to the track, did few test rides on the street). The sides are too steep, I have about 2cm chicken strips on the rear tire while the front tire is used almost completely.
