So I'm not sure where to put this, but I need some help.
A friend of mine picked up a 2000 Bandit 600. Previous owner said it sat for over a year.
When we got it home it ran poor.. Very underpowered. First thing I did was was fresh gas and a set of basic carb kits.
Bike runs about the same as before. What really throws me is this,
I was looking around trying to see if anything was out of place and I bumped my arm on the #4 header pipe coming out of the head. Bike had been running for 5 mins or more. Pipe was COLD! :dunno
tapped numbers 3 and 2 and they were HOT... number 1 was also COLD.
Checked spark on 1 and 4 and both fire correctly.
Here something else that trips me out..... just for shits and giggles I pulled the wires for 2 and 3..... started and now 1 and 4 work.... it will only idle with the choke on but they both fire. :suicide
While running on 1 and 4 I re-attatched 2... NO change, than 3, and the bike idled up to about 4k.. I take the choke off, idles ok.. take it for a ride around the block, get off and 1 and 4's header pipes are COLD.... :scratch
Anyone got any idea why all four cylinders wont run together?
Is this carburetor related or ignition related?
Just for good measure tomorrow I will changed the plugs... they are due regardless
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
