I have a 2002 GXS-R600 with about 24,000km on it. I hear this strange sound and I cant figure out what it is. It only happens when you are on the throttle, and goes away when I close the throttle. Happens with load or no load on the bike.
It kind of sound like something is rattleing (bb's in a can) comming possibly from right side, cluth ? Its not a ticking sound, more like the kind of sound you hear when you left your cars hood and hear the electricals going (spark plugs).
The bike made this sound all the time last season, then stoped making the sound the start of this season, then slowly started makeing it again, and now is doing it all the time.
There is no loss in power, it rides perfect, revs fine, runs great from idle to redline but i cant figure out what this sound is. Since it does it only on the gas im pretty sure its not the chain/sprokets or anything like that, it doesnt do it off the gas so I doubt its CCT. I had the valves done at 23k and they were all in spec and the CCT was fine so I hvae no clue what could be causing it, and why sometimes it would do it and other times it would not (now more doing it than not) so is it a worn part? If so, why does it stop doing it sometimes.... very strange
If anyone can shed some light that would be great!!!!
btw I run full syntec oil, Amsoil 0W-40. Could that be it?
