Sorry to butt in, but do you need to attend a class if it's your first time attending Nelson Ledges? I'm a novice so my buddy said that we have to attend some sort of class if it's our first time on the track.
Probably you will have to attend a class for safety and other reasons. It won't be bad tho. I'm sure you'll learn a lot.

Usually the novice group meets first thing in the morning and after each session to discuss track rules, etiquette, race line, body position, control rider hand signals etc. Again, depends on the organization
Sounds like fun, what do you guys recommend for a track noob? So far I'm buying things that I can switch my bike for track and street since it's the only bike I have.
I just got track fairings, new brakes, second set or rims for track tires, braided brake lines, Joe Rocket 2pc suit and slowly will buy boots and gloves and whatever else I need.

Which company do you go through to schedule the track day at Mid Ohio??
on Mid Ohio's website. i think apex2apex is covering the controll riders again this year.

you shouold go to grattan raceway in Belding Michigan if you was a super fun and technical track. 90% of the turns are blind, off camber, and have elevation changes. and we even have a jump hump. that all depends how how big of ball you have to hit it like it could be. just be caeful on CCW (counter clock wise) days. you will loop over, see it. oh, and Jig will get it on film.

Here's the link to mid ohio's website with the details of everything you'll need. I didn't realize there was so many days available. I can make any of these days so if anyone has a preference let me know. Also i'm about 150 lbs 5'8" , i have no idea what size 1 piece suit to get. Any one around my size can chime in with what suit they have and the size?!?!?! THanks

im guessing a size 40. im 6'1 and 175 and i squeeze into a 42. i wear a 2008 model hein gericke 1pc.. i cant stand up fully as my boys get the supa squeeze. but fits perfectly in a race position. which is how its supposed to fit. make sure you really read the the tech rules, especially for your riding level. and please for the sake of everyone out there, safety wire your radiator cap, oil fill, and oil drain. or at least silicone it. no one want to have their day postponed from someone going down and leavign a trail of coolant or oil on the track.

you would be better off with a two piece suit. I just got a Joe rocket 2 piece for my heavy ass used for around $160.
So if you have a brand name jacket it should be easy to find pants for the jacket for a fraction of 1 piece suit.

really, a 2pc suit for trackdays? you must not be a track rider. of course not, if thats you in your sig then i see where your reasoning comes from. love that gear, and the gear on your lady. excellent protection. :lmao

1 piece suit all the way all day. I've been down 4 times on the street with just a jacket and wish i was wearing a full piece man. I'm driving up to sportbike track gear in michigan either this week or next and going to get a suit, boots, and gloves that should finish off everything i need.

I'm looking at doing the 2 day novice june 6 and 7th (since i've never done it before but i'm sure i could be in intermediate or advanced) i can drag knee on the street lol. If the 2 day isn't good for anyone how about 1 day? Let me know!

you so funny I didn't laugh. How easy is to find an inexpensive size 38 1pc suit, not that easy. I'm trying to help him out with whatever i know, next time i'll change my sig picture to your likings. Kokloqe.

cheap and inexpensive should never be in your vocabulary when shopping for gear. unlike your shirt, jeans, and sneakers. lol you shouldnt give gear advise when you wear squid gear while on a bike. yes i preach gear. yes i used to be a ride captian in my local club (see below). and yes i said USED to be, as i quit riding the streets as its too dangerous. so i preach ATTATT on any ride. and for those not in gear that showed up, were asked to leave. ive seen the horrors of wearing your squid gear, thats why i stress gear the way i do. but i do love those nike's bro.

to the OP, check out the wera forum for gear
http://weraclassifieds.com/
and try not to take advise on gear from riders who dont wear any at all.
