PC3 vs Bazzaz ? Edit : and or the Z-bomb timing retard calibrator?

Im leaning towards the Bazzaz I really like the control/tuning capabilities along with the no clutch shifting options/upgrade . Who's running a Bazzaz and whats your experience with it ? I've always ran the power commander and have had great results but im liking the tuning capabilities with the Bazzaz and different options . Thanks in advance !

i have the bazzaz ZFI as well as the ZAFM (o2 tuner controller). you dont use general "canned" maps. the ZAFM is the tuner so to speak. it gives you the a/f then you hook to your puter and put the values in that it reccomends. or something like that. mine are still in boxes waiting for install. this is what i gathered when i quickly rear on thier website.

Ok so the ZFI is the one that comes with the one size fits all tunes such as just slipons or full system as options or you can get it Dyno tuned using the ZFI or you can add the tuner and I imagine it plugs into a bung on the exhaust so you can get a air fuel reading and then it reccomends the correct air fuel readings for each gear under load and rpm?

um you know they no longer make the pc3 for the gsxr1000. so you need a used one or a supplier with a stockpile.

me personally i would go with the pcv for my k6 which I am probably about to do.
Oh I didnt realise that since there still in abundance online and at my local shop . What do like more about the PCV vs Bazzaz ?

the zfi is basically the same as the pc3/pcv. the zafm is basically the same as the auto tune pcv add-on. but from what ive reads, the bazzaz is more user friendly.

Thanks for the info , I think also the Bazzaz hooks up to all the fuel injectors upper and lower were the pc3 does not whitch allows for better tuning if I understand correctly from what i've been reading and from my research . Not sure if the new PCV does or not . I do like the option for the quick shifter on the Bazzaz but I think the pcv now has that option also . My tuner seems to like the Bazzaz better in his personal opinion but stated the PC3/PCV also is a great option but again for better tunability he recommends the Bazzaz . But thought I'd go wright to the source and ask you guys from your own personal experience that I also highly respect .

I have a Bazzaz setup coming on backorder-I did not order the Z-Bomb because it is preferrable to me to reflash the ECU. I'm not sure what scheme the Z-Bomb uses to fool the ECU, but they typically tell it that the bike is in 5th all the time because that's the only gear not restricted. I would have to assume that it would cause problems with the ZFI and the ZFI TC because they work by gear, RPM and throttle position.

Good points im not sure how the z bomb works either but did read that when using it the digital display will show when your in 1st threw 5th gears it reads correctly but when in 6th it will read 5th. So its for sure fooling the ecu.

I have had the Bazzaz ZFI TC on my K6 for over 10k miles. It is very good and a big improovement over the PC111 I had before.
Power delivery is very smooth and the quickshifter is far better than the Translogic or Dynojet (with ignition module) I had before.
The TC is adjustable on a switch.

Cool man thanks for the input ! Im leaning towards the Bazzaz :cheers

I have the bazzaz ZFI and AFM on 2 bikes. Also have the Zbomb on the 1000.

Zbomb works well, a small bit of noticeable difference...not crazy though.

ZFI-AFM is great IMO. Easy install, easy to tune. Just install, go for a ride, stop and plug in your laptop to make changes. Go for another ride and repeat. You can track your air/fuel every time you ride and continue to make improvements/adjustments until you have it where you want it.

The ZFI without the AFM is like having the old PC3 where you'd need a dyno. The AFM makes it so you don't need the dyno and can tune it yourself whenever you want. If you make changes to the bike such as a different exhaust, you can remap just by riding.

Cool thanks man I wasn't expecting a huge difference with the z-bomb so any improvement is great.Mine should be here tuesday and was wondering were the plug was located if it was under the tank or side of the bike or under the seat. Thanks in advance ,also it will be a few weeks before I get the bazzaz but I think im going to start out with the standard zfi and just have it dynotuned and then later add the quick shifter.

i dont know much about the bazazz but the tuner i got to for my custom maps and for my race motors prefers the pc stuff over the bazazz, this may be something you also might want to consider if the place you go to likes one or the other, some times it helps to talk to them to see what thier opinions are. i have a older bike so i am running a pc3usb, with a hub, and a quickshifter, i like how the pc stuff works and i already had the pc on it.
