Purchase Help!! 08 GSXR1000

New member here! Looking for some advise on a gixxer I am looking to buy.

Been looking for a bike for a while and I did find a pretty good deal on a :

2008 GSXR 1000
Miles 6700
Clean Title
Esthetically Clean
Runs like a champ, bone stock.

The asking price was $8000 and over the course of 3 weeks of haggling I wore the dealer down to a price of $6700 (tax tag dealer included) so $6700 out the door.

The Nada average retail is 7400, the low retail 6300,... so I am thinking $5950 (the bare price of the bike with out tax, etc..) is a pretty good deal.

Good price or just an ok price? Lets vote! unk

That's an awesome price.. I got my 08, in May of 2009 brand new for 11k OTD. Shoulda looked for a better deal like this

That's a good deal, the dealer is probably in it for close to that.

Good deal and I love my k8 1000. My favorite bike yet and I have had a whoooole lot of bikes.

Good deal for original poster.

1st there aint NOTHIN like brand new. shes a virigin from the crate
Anyway dont feel bad I bought my 07 in may 08 as a leftover for 11k OTD also it was like 9,900 before taxes something like that but yea 11k otd with a jacket. Im from Long Island, New York probably the most expensive for bikes or socal.
Its a good deal bro no worries. You see the price increase after 08, 600s are now 11k otd lol

You got the baddest bike in the world.. 07 08 made the most HP..they just get bad wrapsheet cause of the duals and heavy ass cat (~25-30lbs!).. take that off with a single side no cat and watch you kill them all! 09+s made 4hp less published even loss 1 or 2tq. 05 06s made more tq by a few and less hp by like 6-8. They had the single and also no cat less weight and were wheely prone cause of the shorter wheelbase and tq. They extended the wheelbase on the 07 08s.
So till now in the gixxer world 1000s the 07 08 is the fastest (definetly sexiest) I have raced them all (buddies) and I was stock when I raced the 05 06 known as the baddest gixxer 1k ever. (both bikes were completely stock, both riders about the same weight within 5-10lbs)

K8 ? - best damn bike in the world...hang on - i don't have one...sorry - I meant the K3 - THAT's the biggest horsepower, baddest bike on the planet...lol

yea the 03 was the baddest bike in the world! i loved it!!! but that was almost 10 yrs ago
things of changed and a newer bike will school it even a yami!

Honestly the K7-K8 1000s are awesome machines. The mode selector is a whole lot of fun too.

Was being sarcastic - every 2nd person on here reckons their bike is the best because they own it / or don't know any better...
PS - I owned a bike shop for a while, still got enough contacts to ensure i get to throw a leg over the latest stuff...and I can tell you, the 08 model aint the greatest 1000cc bike out there, wasn't in 07 either...

in stock configuration your right.. but all gixxer 1000s with slip pipe no cat... k7 k8 makes the power

since yall are giving out good advise I have a 07 gsxr1000 and I wanted to know would it hurt the bike if i took the cat and the factory exhaust off?

Dam thats crazy expensive! I got my K7 in april of 07 for 10k OTD. That was when they were the hot shit out.
