Need help for Oil change

I'll jump in here, for better or worse. I'm pretty new too, but I just changed my bike's oil using Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10w40 oil (buy 3 quarts) and a K&N oil filter. This was all bought at a local Advance Auto Parts store. Just a note for other new guys, when filling the crankcase with oil, check the sight glass with the bike vertical, not tilted over on the side stand.

check the machine's owner's manual as there will be a lot of different personal preferences here and the list will become daunting. any quality name brand products that meet the specifications of the manufacturer will be perfect for your bike. a lot of it boils down to WHERE you get the items. checking a local forum (on this site or not) will give you the heads-up on great vendors in your area. research into different manufacturers and what the SAE ratings mean can be fun too, but i am a bit nerdy like that. have fun

pretty sure the bikes take about 4 quarts? :scratch
