You know...i don't really regard this as a fiasco.
Had i paid full pop THEN found out about the water in the oil, now that would have been tragic. But...all things considered i don't really feel glued, screwed or tattooed, at least not yet. I saw the problem with the bike, pointed it out, he acknowledged it, his father in law acknowledged it and we moved forward from there. I think desperate times necessitated desperate measures for this guy. The shame of it is though, it really wasn't necessary. Unless, perhaps...he knew about the bikes problem all along and played dumb hoping I wouldn't notice? He said he didn't know and believe it or not, I believe him. Am I giving him too much credit? Again...perhaps I am?
he's alienated his G.D.C. "family" though and only a good old fashioned apology can even begin to make it begin to go right again.
That being said, he has a few days to evaluate the current situation and decide the course of action he chooses to take. Sunday will be the day of truth one way or another.

When I rode with him during the summer it seemed perfectly fine. Only issue I knew about was a fork seal leak. That's about it but it wasn't my bike and we only met up to ride so I am not sure as to the damage when you saw it.

I was the one that rode with him. I don't know the full story other than that his daughter was in a hospital. I won't get into guessing or anything as I only rode with him and we don't hang out all the time or anything like that. For the "mod" Jer that always has a comment about me.. Grow up and act like a mod instead of making comments about me when I'm not even on here or bothering you. Real man you are. If that means you want to ban me then go ahead.. not going to come on and see that you are running shit about me asshat.

That's right Jer.. Kiss my ass.

I am not nor have I said anything other than I know he wouldn't have sold his bike unless he needed the money. I have no answers to the situation.. sorry guys.

PHP...In a way, I think we all wish we are wrong here! No one likes to eat crow but conclusions are drawn when folks are left to speculate based on sporadic facts and conjecture. I've continued to defend him and yet i don't even get the courtesy of a returned phone call. I really don't care why he needed the $$$'s or what he used it for, that is his business. We made a deal and all I expect is for each party to honor it. I already have so the remainder of the resposibilty belongs to him. Plain and simple.
This was a mutually beneficial deal. He needed $$$'s immediately and i was getting more than my $$$'s worth, or so i thought. No mysteries here, It's just that simple!

I remember him posting up about that and how it made his bike handle all squirrely and all. He never mentioned that as unresolved until i mentioned it to him. Another discrepancy in the "mint" bike for sale situation.

I'm not saying you are right or wrong, I was just saying that I only know of how the bike seemed in the summer. I know Rob did say that you were straight up with him and all about problems with the bike.. I'm not defending anyone.. just saying I know he needed to sell it and wouldn't have unless he needed the money. As to the validity of the reason why he needed the money I only know what he told me.. which was that he needed it for his daughter. All I know. :cheers

So you have spoken to him subsequent to my purchasing it from him?
I'm the guy you bring to check over a bike you are intending to buy. I look for things that are often missed but i try and cover the basics first. This one was only a moments notice from being discovered and it was!
Rob was nothing but nice when i met him. I have nothing negative to say regarding his manners or his attitude. The obvious defects could not be ignored as 3 sets of eyes got to see them. I really felt bad for him and really just wanted to say no thanks. At his and his in laws request i made an acceptable offer and the deal was made. But...it was on the pretext that all that was listed and described was included. Many of the items already mentioned were not there after I had already handed him the cash.
My gut instinct told me they were in the truck but he said he "forgot" them? If they were there, it's not fair, it's not right and it's not what we agreed to!

He mentioned that he sold it because I asked how he made out. Yeah he said you knew what you were talking about bike wise etc.. and to me it didn't sound like he knew that it was in the condition that it turned out to be. I know he was selling a compressor with it and stuff.. I only asked about the bike.. didn't know the other items were delivered. I believe he was supposed to sell the bike, xbox, wii, tv, helmet, exhaust and compressor?

Yeah, SRAD I'd be contacting someone if he doesn't come back with his end of the deal. That's just crazy if he ignores you now and hopes you just go away..

Look at it this way for just a moment.
Factor OUT the whole reason why he was selling it.
Look at his ad describing the bikes condition and all that was to be included with it.
Look at what the bikes ACTUAL condition turned out to be and what was actually included with it.
If we had renegotiated on the extras I'd have nothing to say here at all.
That being said, you can find many discrepancies in the overall deal.
Anyone, anywhere on any given Sunday can find fault with that!
Now...reintroduce the manner in which he sold it and the apparent fabrication of facts to folks whom he sought help from.
Can you see where and why this has become such a bone of dis-contention?

LOL that typo thing is pretty weird. Like I said, I hope you at least get the rest of the items that you have a deal on. I wouldn't hold much hope from him if with the faults so far. But that's just from my past experiences dealing with people who were unclear with the truth..
