hey guys, Im going to be selling my 06 600rr next spring and I REALLY want to get the 08 750. A 1000cc never really appealed to me. 750 is the perfect balance. Few questions first.

1- I plan on doing a lot of 2-up riding from now on. I know its not ideal on a 600, but its still very possible. I just dont like how much it slows the bike down. Is a 750 a good bike for 2-up riding?

2- My 600 has a full exhaust, pc3 custom map and an air filter. Its fast enough for me. Will the 750 be comparable to a modded 600? I know, no replacement for displacement. Just wondering though.

3- I really want the 08 as I love the front end. Any idea how much they will be around by next spring? Not looking to get from a dealer.

Thanks in advance

the 750 will have more power and low end torque than your modded 600. so if the 600 has been fine in the best, the 750 will only be better :cheers

It will not be night and day difference but more HP is more.

You may want to see if you can ride a 750 before you make the swap.

I preferred my liter bike for 2 up ridding and I really dug my buddies Busa for 2 up riding.

you said you really want. buy it :) it will be better you will also feel better.

+1 on busa for 2 up riding, much more comfy. got 2 friends that own busa and travel with their wifes, the 1000 sucks for 2 travel. although i can go pretty fine with them (but no girl, just solo)

im of the opinion that no sportbike is really meant for 2-up riding... i feel like they added the seat so husbands could convince their wives it was for both of them...

the 750 will be more powerful than ur 600... BUT, the powerband will be stock... of course an exhaust and pc3 w/ a tune will fix this.

no idea how much those bikes will be... but remember its a 750... they hold their value higher than 600s and liter bikes

Are you going to be racing while there is another on the back? If not, then get the 750 because it is what you want. I've gone from a 1k to a 600 and riding with my girlfriend on the back does not bother me at all because I am not riding like an asshole trying to set some speed record with her on it.

The Perfect Answer!!!

my buddies 07 600rr is perky at best, his 1st & 2nd gears seem shorter then my 750, higher gear ratio. I felt a false sense of power, the bike seemed to want to lift the nose easily in those gears which is why i call it perky but when you are in a higher gear 4, 5 and 6 you can feel the lack of torque compared to the 750. For ex. cruising in 6th at 50 mph or so you can grap a fist full of throttle the the 600rr feel like it cant get out of its own way. Now, the 750 is more the happy to oblige...

I am not knocking the 600rr but its power does not hold a candle to the 750, i am actually quite fond of the 600rr and if it came with a 750 (750rr???) i probably would have chosen it over the gix...

take the 750 for a spin, if you like the 600 then you'll love the 750

Ditto! Well said! I came off a 2005 CBR-600RR to a 2007 ZX6R and now on a 2008 GSX-R750... All no comparison to my 750! The 750 is so smooth and pulls right to redline. I sold my CBR to a buddy, who I ride with all the time, and he took out my 750 the other day - he was floored at the difference! Go for the 750!

Incidentally, my buddy got my 750 up to 250 KMH GPS verified in fifth gear (like 290 KMH indicated)... I never cracked 230 maybe on my zixxer or cbr (the gains after that are so slow and they felt like they were workin' way too hard...

The 750 will be fine for 2-up. I ride 2-up all the time and my 600 does just fine. Granted I'm fairly small and so are the girls I take, but it still works. As long as you're not trying to set the lap record at your nearest track or run the best 1/4 mile time on Friday night, you shouldn't notice that much of a difference. It might be a bit uncomfortable for your passenger though.

750 rips one up:punk sucks two up :nonotake the lady for a spin:eek:hmy if she wants to go again she needs her own bike:biggrin took my chicky on one run the most painfull 100k ever:crying for both of us :nono

I've ridden my buddy's 03 rr with slip/pc/tune /filter two up and it did the job but not that great or fun for either. Just sold my 900RR and picked up a 03 gix6 and it works great two up even more fun than the 900 was. And we wiegh in about 350lbs between us. Having owned older 750s I can tell you the 750 will treat you good.

But I would suggest leaving it close to stock. You're not gonna want to sell it anytime soon so save the mods and power for later when the novelty wears off a bit.

I also came from an 05 600RR but to a k9 600. I two up'ed on both bikes and in my opinion the RR was more comfortable to two up on. Comparing the position of the passenger on both bikes, the RR felt like the passenger was more level with the rider. I felt more comfortable carrying a passenger (which is rarely..only when its necessary) on the RR than the gix.

BUT. The gsxr is SO much more fun imo.

i agree with rraiderr on this as well.

before i bought my 750, i was ready to drop the coin on an '07 600RR. when comparing stock to stock, the 750 had more power and tq but it wasn't a 'huge' difference compared to the '07 600RR. the 750 does become a different animal from 10K rpm upwards though as that's where i felt the biggest difference.

i also came from an '03 600RR. The newer CBR is so light it's like a bicycle. the 750 isn't exactly a feather weight. i was fortunate enough to test ride both bikes for about an hour before i decided on the 750.

like you said yourself, you can't beat displacement and 2 up riding on the 750 will mean you won't have to wind the motor up as much as the 600.
