Let me start by saying hello to everyone, as I am new to this forum, and new to the inline 4 world.
I am coming of an 06 Ducati monster S2r.
As a kid gixxers were the bike to have, and the bike I constantly drooled on(and cbr900)
anyway... FInally after being tortured by DUcati of Miami and their shitty service, and rude technicians. I decided to fulfill my childhood dream(I am 32 now) and get me a brand new Gixxer 750! black on flat black.
I bought it at ft lauderdale motorsports, and couldnt be happier with them! great sales people (Conrad and Roger) and great service people(Brian)
but unfortunetly after owning the bike for only 2 days, something has gone wrong!!
I was riding while suddenly the SD warning code came on,and then the oil light came on...... I kept riding a mile or two, and I noticed the Tach is not working and neither is my speedometer(it was stuck on 53mph) , I pull over and my bike completely dies.:banghead The digital reader shows 88888888 everywhere and bike will not start!! long story short, they came and towed me and were on it really fast! couldnt ask for better service on their part.
They checked the bike everything looked fine and they replaced the battery.
Well....... Last night I was trying to get those miles on(must reach 600 miles asap!!!) :biggrin :biggrin and guess what?!?! same thing happened!! SD code came on, then oil light.... luckily I almost made it home, and had to push bike only one block:sad .
They are on the way to pick up my bike, but any advice or info would help...
Is this happened to anyone?
its a brand new bike and I am really frustrated!!:cursing
I wanted to go Jap for the reliabilty( and ofcourse the speed!!!:punk)
HELP!!!

Dont know what the issue is, but it is under warranty so just try to be paitient. I'm sure they want it fixed just as bad as you do.
You could just have some kind of fluke thing. I can tell you that I have both an 06 gixx and 06 Busa, and really never had a problem.

First thing I checked was the Damper. all tight and in place.
Its some electrical issue for sure....
I know I have to be patient, but damn it! i'm frustrated and I just wanna ride ride ride!!!
My Duc has been in the shop for a month and I was out of town for almost 3 weeks before, so that means I didnt ride for almost 2 months!!
I am a speed addict! and I must ride! no I NEED to ride!!!
haaaaa!!! Im losing it slowly but surely!
Is this issue happened to anyone??

once things are straightened out, you will see how great a bike it is. Dont let it get ya down. Besides, you can ride all yr round! Try shoveling snow for 5 months!

SO apparently its the Regulator(or something like that) Its the 2nd one they have seen. and Suzuki is now aware of it.
Lemon laws do not apply to motorcycles in Florida, but trust me, one more time in the shop and I will cancel the deal( Its not a done deal till registration goes through)
Anyone here had any regulator problems?
Please keep this post on topic... dont be jealous cause I can ride year round! ;) ;) hahahah!

Very odd, and not normal at all. Regulator does not seem like it would be the end of it to me, but it could be. REally sounds like a flaky ECU.

Actually the SD code is also for low system or battery voltage. Based on that and on the indications you were getting, I would say that its the rectifier/regulator unit (part of the charging system). I have seen numerous posts of that part failing on the newer gixxers. Hope you get it fixed soon.

downsc123, you are right, thats exactly what it was.
Regulators were on back order, so they took one of a 09.
Service Department is great and took care of it asap.
Rode the bike a bit today and it seemed fine. I am giving them one more chance, if it happens again, its on!!!!
I am alos working on getting the fender eliminator and a yoshi r55 exhaust for a steal! if they wont, then its on too!
I think I have been nothing but fair with them. so I expect the same from them.
I will keep you updated.
Thanx again for all the info!

im from s fla and i've heard nothing but bad things about that dealership. might want to take the bike to a reputable shop to look at and make sure it is on the up and up. plus, i hope you got a good deal. i called them while shopping for the exact same bike and they laughed when i mentioned what other dealerships were asking. pm me if you want details and good luck.
