I was working on my truck tonight, replacing a pretty smashed up bumper. Anyways it was late and i had many things to do before I went to bed. Gone to game 2 of the NHL Eastern conference championship tomorrow, which I have been so stoked about. My first playoff game. Anyhow, I was reaching for my toolbox on an upper shelf in my garage and a fucking tall drinking glass ( which I knew I better move ) that I have been keeping there, to prevent me from have to run in my house to get something to the drink, fell onto the tank of my beloved bike. The bike was covered, I heard the crash and of course I thought, "fucking no". So not wanting to now what it looked like under the cover, I peeled it back and sure enough there was a descent and deep scratch on top of the tank. " Mother Fuck ! " I understand you can't avoid scratching a bike, I have so many times on others in the past. But this was my first brand new one and I was hoping to put that off for a couple of years. I am so fucking mad ! So, mad I thought about ordering a new tank. 800 fucking dollars ! ! ! Fuck that ! So I bought a touch up pen of the net from Colorrite. Hell that was 25 $. I haven't even rode it yet ! I am so mad. Hope the game makes me forget about it for a minute tomorrow. Sorry fellas, I had to rant. Go Pens ! :cursing :banghead :crying :dissapointed :scared :sad:grrr:cursing::mad2::mad:

welcome to the club of damaging your new bike. 2 weeks into owning mine i moved it in my friends garage thought the kick stand was down but it must have moved a lil as i moved the bike forward. It fell and damaged the gas tank. Shit happens.

yeh in my old apartment i kept my bike inside since i was ground floor, and the kick stand somehow moved when i moved forward in a tight space, small dent on my fuel tank

sucks that you havnt ridden the bike yet but as you ride more annd more the little scratches from hauling ass and stone chips are what makes it what it is, after a while dosnt bother you, im enjoying the bike its like wear and tear. dont buy a new tank yet just dont look at it

I fell your pain. I scrtached the side of my bike on the ride home from the dealership. My jacket sleeve zipper broke which I didn't know about and scratched the part that goeas around the tank - she didn't even have more than 50km on it when I noticed it.

Man I feel your pain. I am anal about keeping stuff looking brand new. But hey you do get to see the Pens play tonight. I'll be watching either from my couch drinkin some Arhn City Light or at a bar. Have fun at the game.

Bought my K8 1000, brought it home in my truck and it slipped off the ramp when I was unloading it. Didn't fall over, just bottomed out on the last 6 inches of the ramp. 2 busted fairings and the plastic radiator mesh pc. Hadn't even started it yet...

same thing happened to me man. i know how you feel.

just think though...now that that is over you won't have to go through that feeling again and you can stop babying it :) shit i have dings on our shop bikes from cars tossing rocks at it. they are meant to be rode and things happen. as long as it's not major so be it...the only bikes that look mint are babied or kept in storage.

Reminds me of when I put up shelves in my garage awhile back.

I am not Bob Villa but I though I did a great job but after hearing a huge crashing sound, I found they collapsed and all their contents crushed my bike.

On the flip side I did not feel so bad when I took that bike to the track and lost the front as the bike was already damaged.
