I can't believe you guys are taking the time to look at your GPS's while moving at those insane speeds! Have you ever calculated how far you travel every second at those speeds? One simple little "happening" in the road and you are F'd!!

Hells yea, usually hit the kink with an indicated 155ish give/take a few. One my fears is someone coming up underneath at or just before the kink, cause as you know you run out of track if you don't turn that bitch. Seen it happen countless times where people aren't in far enough end up running off on exit. Not good at those speeds.
Yep, above about 130ish, that little "kink" actually becomes a turn and you are required to "finish" it.

...well, only if you like being on the pavement anyway. :lol

I cant see my speedo. I am talking real speed. LIke draggin knee in T-2 at Jennings (the kink) is easily at over 100mph real speed. The high speed kink AFTER the rollercoaster at barber, easily over 100mph. I have drug knee in all of those places, but none of them were as fast as the kink at CMP I dont think
That is a good one. I know at Jennings to get my knee down I had to be going about 110 (with my BP). I never looked at my Speedometer at CMP, now i wish i would have.

But i have to admit, i think the kink at CMP is probably a little faster, it seems to be a little straighter. :scratch

Your speeds will read faster because you are on the side of your tire. I will play: turn 1 Jennings, happened to noice around 116mph. Turn 2 Barber 85mph. Those were both done on street tires.
If you got your knee down in T2 at Jennings, you were going faster than you were at T1.

Fact.

Ask Jimmy about the fast left hand turn after the carousel at Barber :biggrin

Last session, i came out of the Carousel WFO (I was on the R1) and saw him up ahead. He looked back as i was coming up on him and saw me coming and i never checked up. :D

I maxed out 2nd, 3rd and clicked into 4th as I dove in and passed him on the inside of that left hander. I looked at the speedometer before I dipped in and it said 143 :lol

But im -1/+2 on the R1, so im sure it was probably in the 120's somewhere.

Jimmy was like :eek

:spit

I was talking about the king after the rollercoaster. By carousel you mean T5 the 180* at the bottom of the hill in the middle of the track? I have not touched down anywhere after that until I hit the rollercoaster

I am not good with all of the designations. Hell, i still dont know which ones people call the "museum" and the "bridge" turns. :dunno

:lol

Ok, i think we agree on which part is the "carousel" (the one where you turn right, jump the curbing as you go downhill and then have the sharp/downhill right hander).

Then you have a semi-long stretch and a real fast left hander, then switches back right. That first left hander is the one im talking about. I hadn't touched down there either until the session before last when i was trying to chase the RoadRacingWorld.com sponsored AMA Buell rider (dude was crazy fast, even on that POS).

He got past some riders and i had to be a little more respectful than him and i lost him (not that i could keep up with him anyway if he was really trying to do it right, dude was ridiculous).

Then again, it is probably a good thing i didnt stay on his ass, after he got passed those people and pulled away from me, he wrecked the Buell 3 turns later. They had to red flag the session because the 1125r was sitting in the middle of the track.

I didnt touch down there again until i passed Jimmy on the inside through there. It wasnt really a "drag", just more of a "touch". :D

Did you see that Lora got both knees down? :w00t

nope, we are not in agreement :lol.

AMA names them different from Barber iself too

T-1 self exlanatory
T2 long right hander down hill
T3 at the bottom of the hill
T4 as you crest the top of the hill
T5 (AKA carousel, charlottes web) 180 left at bottom of next hill (ama guys back it in all the time here)
T6 kink in straight after T5
T7A/b aka rollercoaster, museum turn is the top of that section to the jump on the curbing
T8 bottom of it last right hand part
T9/10 next kink (the one I was talking about
T11/12 next left right kink, blind downhill entrance for T11, T12 is the bridge (tunnel) turn over the hill with the chainlink beside it.
T13 is the next right at the bottom of the backside of the bridge turn through the long sweeper to the right.
T14 is where it tightens up to the right after pit out
T15 is left back onto front straight
That is about how most of us number it

Image

But barber numbers T3 through T6 different

Image

That is the most common numbering. I think the AMA has 16 turns listed, with the main difference being 14a on the first map being 14, then 14 being 15, and the last turn being 16 I think

I was talking about T10 on both maps, the exit of it is faster than the entrance to T9, I drag all the way out to the rumble strips on that straight

fastest knee drag?

Probably the right coming onto the front straight at NJMP Thunderbolt. Coming through there in 4th gear with only a -1 setup, so probably 110-120.:dunno never looked down.

Well damn, i reckon i was all fucked up. :spit

Ok, i was talking about the turn after the rollercoaster...or T9.

I normally don't touch my knee down in T9, but i did once when i was chasing that RRW guy and again when i passed Jimmy on the inside of T9.

But it pissed me off because im like "if i did it those two times, i should do it every time :hammer".

I have never been really good with turn numbers on tracks where they seperate shit like 7a, 7b etc...and sometimes i will think a section is just one long turn but the track will label it two different turns. :dunno
