knock urself out i need a good helmet.. ma boy rides and he says icon helmets aint bad at all, i guess everyone has their own opinion. Arai helmets r like $800.
so you think your life might not be worth $800? cuz that's what you're risking...

ok, since this thread has already been hijacked (someone call the police :biggrin ) I'm gonna put my 0.02 in

I think the bike is great lookin :thumbup Welcome, and thanks for lookin into helmets and not being a :squid

As far as helmets go, I didnt know what to do when I first started riding, cuz a friend/coworker kept tellin me to only get arai or shoei, and other people said they're all the same, so I did my own research. Arai and Shoei are by far the safer of the helmets. They test more of their helmets per bunch (i.e. they test 1 in 100 rather than 1 in 1000, make sence?) to insure that they are up to and way beyond the standards. If the helmet isnt perfect, it goes back to the beginning of the line and gets rebuilt. They put alot more time and money into their helmets to better protect your melon. You will pay more, but it's worth it. I have a shoei rf-1000, and I bought a plain silver one for $450 If you want something that looks good, and dont care about your head... well, its your head, not mine :dissapointed But I would say get one of the Better hemets.

I dont know anything about lowering the bikes though... I'm still a newby...

Just my 0.02

Nice looking bike and welcome aboard.

Whatever you do, don't lower it just because you can't back the bike up while sitting on it. I can't either so I just get off the fuckin thing and push it where I need it to go. It's really that simple. You should see my 5 foot 2 inch cousin with his non-lowered zx10. Just takes a little determination. :thumbup

I never thought so but I guess it's all about how you look at it. You'll see plenty of racers who have to push their bikes around. Trust me, these guys aren't embarrased so you shouldn't be either. :cheers

true.. thnx for the advice. now dats out da way. now i need 2 kno wats a good helmet for a decent price. my budget aint so high right now. im a full time student

tops about $300-$350
Go to your local dealership and try on a Shoe TZ-R and if you like it, buy it from helmetcity.com, it's just under 300 + tax, and they have free 2-day shipping. I've had 2 TZ-Rs, first one held up in a 45 mph high-side with minimal scratches. New one has yet to go down *knock on wood*

its labeled on the tire and you can probably find a PDF manual for your bike. :cheers

Get the helmet that fits your head and your wallet.

I would love to spend $800 on an Arai, but I can’t afford it. :dunno

I did manage to pick up a Shoei at a reasonable price, but I also owned a HJC that cost $150. Had that HJC for 2 years. :biggrin

It is what it is.
