I went down around the corner from my pad. Some high school kid ran out into the street not looking. I veered left, went through a storm drain, got bucked off and ended up sliding. The bike came sliding at me after I was done rolling and bent my left leg the wrong way and landed on my back. I broke lumbars 2, 3 and 4, dislocated my right ankle and got some road rash on my back arms and legs. Docs say I'm going to be 100%. After 2 weeks I'm still sore but I'm up and around off of the pain killers thank GOD! Percocet is some nasty stuff. Bike only suffered cosmetic and is already sittin pretty in my house.

Glad to hear your ok! It sux at times out there, with people driving with their heads up their asses!!! Also glad to hear the bike took minor damage. Get yourself well, and then the ride. Keep your head on a swivel!
Yea, damned kids and their walking/running with their heads up their asses.

Seriously though, that sounds horrible. Glad to hear you'll be up and at em though.

That sucks, i gather you didnt have any time to react? Dumb question i know, i have been there this year too. I almost dumped the bike when a car turned left in front of me. I was watching her, she was on the phone and i knew something was not right. I still wasnt ready for it when it happend. Fotunately i wsa able to panic top the bike. i shuddered the front tire off and on the brakes, and sprained my left leg holding the bike up.

Hope you get better soon.

I'm glad to hear you will make a full recovery. Were you wearing gear? How did it perform? I've been told you don't find out if you like riding motorycles until you go down for the first time lol.

That sucks bro but it sounds like you are going to come out of it pretty well. The bike didn't get messed up too bad and you'll be back at it soon enough.

damn sorry to hear you went down. It makes me cringe to see a white and silver k8 go down cause I think there the hottest gixxerto date. I havean extra white seat cowl if you need it
That would be awesome if you can spare because I can definitely use it! My uncle fixed the bike for me and we decided to not buy the cowl due to cash flow.

I did have a second to react but bad thing the storm drain was where I went to lol.

Only gear I had on where my helmet and gloves. All I did was go around the corner to put gas so I can go to work the next day. I was wearing a brand new black Alpinestar shirt to dammit haha.

Glad you not too tore up.:cheers

Glad you okay, and that is the reason I wear FULL GEAR all the time.. To the store, to work, to the gym, any where I go on the bike, I got on full gear. The favorite line I hear, is "isn't that too hot?".

I have frequent 100 mph+ crashes on the racetrack, and full gear saved my butt. On the street, anything can happen, so I go with my better mind, full gear, all the time.

IMO, in an area where kids can run out in the street, IMO, you should have been able to avoid them.. Anyway, that is hindsight, hope a lot was learned on that crash. We supposed to learn something after every crash, so that won't happened again, or if it does, you will know what to do..

Didn't mean to preach, but we MUST learn from our mistakes or they will be repeated.
Wish you a quick and speedy recovery, on you and the bike... :cheers

I did avoid the kid but didn't avoid the drain lol. I'll wear gear every single time now but I doubt the gear would have done anything when the bike landed on me and broke the bones in my back but I see your point. Thanks though :thumbup
