yeah I tried to white balance the photo as much as possible but not blow out the photo. it's bright as hell huh!!! It's PURE white!!!

Glad you like it!

Hey how are you guys doing. Just wanted to say all of these posts has helped me out a lot with this light stuff. I originally wasn't going to go with the HID kit but hearing from you guys is pushing me towards it. I just wanted to know if anybody knows anything about the Halo Angel/Demon eyes. I wasn't sure what size mm is the right one for a 08 gixxer 600 and if anybody has done this and has pictures? thank guys

Couple of things about those Angel/Demon eyes... so far they only make 'em for the R6 and R1. Even if they made it for the K8 I wouldn't suggest them... first off, having any sort of color is pretty much illegal in most states (so your limited to .... white), secondly, you can't mount them anywhere on the K8 housing unless you get a completely new housing (or crack it open, which will cause alot of moding and retrofitting).

I'm glad your considering HID upgrades... they make riding at 5am and at night much more safe for me and other drivers that diffidently notice me, hence the rear view mirror adjustment. Pissing off a few car drivers is better than getting hit by one. I think it's a good time to buy considering that the prices are now much much cheaper than they were say... 5 years ago when I payed about 500 bucks for a system for my car (with big huge magnetic ballasts).

Thank you I really appreciate your post. Those Angel/Demon eyes look real sick, but thank you for talking me out of it. So I was thinking about just changing my low beam H11 to the HID 4300k. On the lite eyes site they have the 35w kit for about $120. What do you suggest I do? I obviously want to get my money's worth. Do you think I should change my High beams as well?

hmmm.... sounds like me when I first thought about HID... okay here is the break down ....

Lite-eyes.com = bad business... trust me!!! I went to order my kit and it never came. I never got a email back when I contacted them. They never pick up my calls.

4300K will have a little bit of yellow in it.... I have 5000K bulbs and I'm telling you it's like printer paper white there is no hint of yellow (4300K) and no hint of blue like you find on 6000K bulbs (except during startup)

I think I paid for my 55watt Apexcone/DDM kit (which is 43% brighter than 35w kits) for $110 shipped from sharphid.com. The kit is VERY high quality as you can see from my photos on I think page 5 and 6. Sharphid is a distributor.

As I stated before (infact just above), the nature of HID is that it must warmup as there are no "filaments to burn" only gas that heats up to create a light output. The start up for HID lights take about 20 seconds or so for it to be at its peak luminosity. With that said, if you want to just use them as running lights then that might be fine, but if you decide to flash someone... you won't be able to do that. Remember, for all HID bulbs there is a ballast attached to it. 1bulb = 1 ballast; 2bulb = 2 ballasts; etc.; etc. You'll have to try to find MORE hiding spots for all the ballasts (meaning all 3 ballasts if you do Hi-Beam HID; Hard enough for just 1 ballast, hence this entire damn thread/article).

My suggestion is this... get your kit at www.sharphid.com, choose your color (4300K slight yellow, 5000K pure white, 6000K slight blue), and forget about HID Hi-Beams instead get a good pair of aftermarket 9005 Hi-Beams that closely resemble your Low-Beam Color Temp (K temp.).
:biggrin

Aright man that sounds good. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all of that to me. I'm new at all this and im just tryin to take in as much as possible. Thanks, I think I am going to go with just the low beam 55w 5000k as suggested.

I mean if it's TOO white for you and you want color in it... you can change the bulb later on which is like $30 bucks... or $50 for a pair (use 'em as spares)

All in all wha kevin said is right on the nail. I bought my lite-eyes kit, had an install problem and never got an email back, not even to this day. Thank god i got the right stuff or else i would be really screwed.. As he stated, f*&^ hi beam HID and get some nice 9005 (type of high beams) bulbs. Ebay is your best bet, type in 9005 super white bulbs , or you can go like me and him and get some sick ass yellow fog lights for the highs. It looks 110% bad asssss. Either way go with the 5 or 6k HID for the low beam.

The Higher the number the more blue
Not necessarily... around the 8000K temperature... it starts to become purple... but for the topic of conversation... yes the higher the number the more blue

Ladies and Gents... I believe we questioned and answered the shizz-nat out of this topic and providing more photos than most people put on their directions to the product. So... if anyone wants to ask a question... read the rest of the thread first.

I am going to put up another thread in a month or two on how to rebuild and repack your aftermarket muffler... specifically the Yoshimura R-55 exhaust.

A guy at work told me that its a bitch to 're-seal' the new bulb in the fixture while installing this mod. Anyone have any advice or a method for doing this. Or does he even know what he is talking about - I guess I'll find out when I install but want to make certain that i have all the proper elements/tools to do the install

Thanks all

It's all good though! I created this thread to help people out and provide pictures so i hope this thread comes up when people search for it!

Make a write up of the R55 when you get around to it! i happen to have one myself!
