i must admit i always have loud music on, but i have 2 side mirrors i can see from and a mirror in the middle plus i can still hear traffic like my helmet, let along i would hear nothing with music and not concentrate, i guess theres no problem if ur rideing safe, not filtering fast or at all, not going too much over the limit ect..

im just guessing when stuff comes your not going to be anywhere as switched on and it could cause a problem
well, he broke the chatterbox at a track and he rides with a club so i'm sure he does some spirited riding on back roads. i don't think he wants something to use if he's riding through city traffic, especially at the speeds he wants to be able to hear everything. just a hunch though

It really is an easy install... you can do it yourself if you are the least bit handy .... just need to carve the foam around your ear / cheek pads in the helmet....

Keith is indeed a good guy.

OBTW, I use my system on my cruiser, not on my GSXR... wife and I do at least one 1500 - 2500 mile trip a summer... and when slabbing it for hours on end, you can't beat having tunes and being able to communicate a bit.... beats the heck out of the kidney punches she use to give me when she needed a pit stop :) I'm lucky, my wife is pretty quiet by nature, so I don't have to listen to a constant traveloge or carry on much of a conversation... I added an XM INNO to the system last year... best thing since sliced bread... even better than an MP3 player... also, I have a very ill daughter and need to be reachable, so I also have a hook up through the system for my cell phone... it all integrates and works perfectly.

So here's my setup. The first pic is the Radios. Motorola Talkabout T5500. 8 mile range, rechargable. The next 3 are of the headset. The pickups aren't tight on their own. The velcro enclosure helps. But, with the 1/8" plugs in the back to connect the earpiece (speaker or tube), it starts to bulk up. The second pic shows this. The acoustic tube earpiece was an add-on. I haven't spent much time with it, but I think I can find a better place to clip it on, maybe to the helmet's neck skirt. The last picture is the PTT (push to talk) button if you don't have or don't want to use VOX. It's long enough to run inside a sleave and put it on your finger with some athletic tape. It works quite well. The ear tube is a must if you really want this to work. Put an earplug in the other ear, and the tube blocks outside noise on the other side. My roomate asked me "did you kill it" when I was talking to him from the garage with the bike running. ZERO outside noise through these mics.

Seriously, please check out the Cardo Scala q2. It has blue tooth on up to 4 items, it's smaller than the chatterbox, and only 175 bucks. It has all the features that you guys say you want. The chatterbox is overpriced crap.

geek that setup looks cool I just bought almost the same thing for about $55 im sure its not as good of a setup but its cheap and I dont see why it wouldnt work almost as good 2 mics predator $35 and 2 5 mile walkies for $20
