Hello,
I ride a GSX-R750 in a club with a good 70+ other riders. I recently bought a Chatterbox system (The cheaper 2mile range one) and noticed that it is virtually useless above 45mph. I wear a full face helmet and spend 80% of my time at speeds from 80-100+ mph. Also I have it plugged into an iPod and the sound quality is very horrible and can only be heard distortion free and speeds under 40mph. Overall very low end unit great for parking lots and driving in slow traffic but anything over 40 and your SOL.
So I'm looking at ditching the chatterbox and going for something that can be usable at 100mph speeds. I've seen IntraRide, AutoComm, And StarCom1 units ranging from $250 to $700 (I need both driver and passenger setup for intercom and bike to bike ability that is compatible with Chatterbox users) and something where I can hear my iPod at 100mph without it sounding like a bunch of garbage.
So I'm stuck there, definitely need something better but I need it to be able to communicate with Chatterbox users since most people in our club use it still. Any ideas or comments on the best route to take? I'd like to budget around $450 for the driver/passenger setup including radio for bike to bike. Anyone point me in the right direction...... much appreciated! :cheers
