If the forks and tripple are bent IN (which would be probably where the mechanic got the one inch measurement from) then that tightens the rake and trail, so it will make it VERY twitchy and make turn in VERY rapid. And very dangerous to ride really.

Take the forks off, and put a straight edge across the upper, but extend it all the way down to just before the axle clamps on the lowers, then rotate the lowers inside the uppers, you will see the lower wobble more than likely.

But as I said, that does NOT tell weather the uppers are bent or not as well, and that measurement is alot harder to take.

If the forks are at all bent, you can %99 guarantee the tripple clamps are bent as well.

then comes the frame.... it is pretty tough, but there is no good way to tell if it is just slightly bent without having someone like GMD check it.

Keep in mind a SLIGHTLY bent bike of any sorts can make a phenominal sportbike turn into a chore to ride. And it if is SLIGHTLY bent it may not be super easy to tell, but it just will never quite feel right. The problem with NOT getting it measured is you will always wonder if it is straight or not...... so every little wiggle or twitch it has will appear much larger as you are hyper sensitive. The only way to forget about it is to KNOW it is straight
i understand what you mean, i know my forks and triples are straight and true, along with my rim. we were going to swap my forks and triples onto his bike and see if that fixed the issue he is having. the biggest thing i noticed with his bike was that its really easy to threw into turns, almost like you are turning the handle bars, not pushing with the side you want to turn. its really hard to describe in words but very easy to understand if you actually ride the bike.

Which as I said tells me they are probably bent IN toward teh radiator, which shortens rake and trail.... and makes it twitchy like that

I think you hit the nail right on the Head. If by "in" you mean towards the radiator then that is what the problem is, the back of my tire when i wrecked actually bent back far enough to dent the bottom part of the radiator. So i am willing to bet money that it is My forks and trips.

How do i go about replacing those though.... Do they come together or do i purchase the forks and the trips seperately?

Gooood looking out Razahyde, i really appreciate your time today. OH! and my screw for the odometer sensor fell out... So now mine doesnt work either :-D! hahahhaha got to get another one...

If it bent that far in, you do stand a good chance of a bent frame. What did you hit?

a Curb :-(... Tboned the damn thing.... i dont know... maybe it was the Curb that bent that bottom part of the radiator ... wat gets me is that if it was the rear of my wheel, i still have the same amount of space from the back of the tire to the inner wheel well of the bike... like from the tire to the fairing you kknow?

So if it did bend inward toward the radiator then wouldnt it of stayed bent that way since it was the frame?

Im going to pick up new forks and trips to be on the safe side and see if the problem persists.

ah man fuck, i didnt bolt down that screw...it shoudlnt have fallen out though. it should be hanging on your bike if anything because i did plug it in.

you can get the forks and triples seperate or as a set. ill keep an eye out for those for you. but your forks looked fine to me. i would get triple tree first though. then you can try the forks if it doesnt fix the problem. if you need to swap that stuff hit me up. shoudlnt take more then 3-4 hours to get all that knocked out. you have my number and ill give you a ring if i find a good deal on some triples.

I explained how to at least check the inner fork tubes.... remove the forks and at least check them. The uppers are harder to bend.

The order of how easy stuff is to bend......

Tripples
lower forks,
Upper forks
Frame.

And that is the order I would check stuff out, the first two being the most possible
