Can anyone think of a way to make the fuel light come on steady at a gallon and blink at half a gallon instead of being the other way around.
This blinking thing can be really annoying, plus it would make more sense to blink when it is really running out of gas, not 1.3 gallons before and then going steady at 0.5 gallons.

i agree that the blinking makes more sense if you're about to die, but i dont see why you can just get used to it. or just put gas anyway when it starts blinking

Are you serious?
You have bikerboyz as your signature and you asking me if I am serious?

It is very distracting especially in the twisties, and it can mess up your concentration. The problem is even worse if you are coming from a CBR background in which yellow is the turning blinker color on the dash, which makes you want to double check if something was left on.
Bottom line, I need one blink, and I know I have to stop....don't need that thing blinking for 15-20 minutes especially when I have enough in there to go up and down the dragon twice.

So enough with the: are you serious or fill up your bike. Of all the mods out there, this actually seems on the more sensible side.
Does anyone know what two wires to switch?

I hate the light too..... that's why I always go get the bike filled asap once it comes on. I have never seen that light solid yet, I like to play it safe.

I TOTALLY agree. The blinking light is damn annoying. The guy I bought my bike from told me it blinks for 3 mins, then goes off. I wish that were the case.

I have a amod for you:

#1 - Fully fill tank
#2 - Set trip to zero
#3 - When tank goes completetly empty, make a note of how many miles you went on one tank
#4 - Remove fuel indicator bulb
#5 - Reset trip each time you refill

My old bike MADE me do this, and I dont mind it. Knowing my mileage makes me more conscious of maintenance too.

PS - Biker Boyz comment = funniest thing I heard all week...

...Well, besides THIS:

Hm, somtimes I don't even notice the blinking gas light. But if it bothers you that much stick some tape over it, You can completely cover it up or have a slight transparent tape so you can see it but not as bright.

Other than that it might be something you just have to get use to and it won't be as apparent like the fasten seat belt warning noise in cars these days. They just keep beeping on and on and on and on.................................

Sorry I can't offer a way to do it, but I would be down to switch mine over if we find a way.

If you don't want the light, the suggestion to take out the bulb also gave me the idea to maybe install a switch to shut it (the fuel light) off totally until you fill up, then when you fill up you could turn the light back on. Not a solution, but maybe a temporary remedy until you find a way to switch its behavior.

Oh and +1 to the Biker Boyz comment... that made my night :D haha

I cant believe you have time to check if you have a decent amount of fuel in your bike when your flying round a twisty! man thats a fucking good one!!! :lol

Shroom, com'on man why you always antagonize me?

That's not what I meant, but that blinking can be caught by the corner of your eye and make you look away for a split second.....enough not to see a deer or something jumping of.

I guess what I am asking is, is there a sensor that switches modes, or are there two sensors and hence 2 wires in which case they can be swapped?

can anyone tell by this:

theres two more diagrams for our bike... i have them somewhere on my other computer ill post them when i get it on later... but im sure there are at least two wires that can be swapped... try posting this in anything goes or general bike talk theres probably an electrician somewhere on here that can help

Its a fucking joke. Everyone knows that Torque is better. :lol

Not exactly sure how it works. Probably some sort of variable resistor. Hit's voltage A and light flashes... hit's voltage B and light stays on. Reversing that wouldn't be too easy.
