Does anyone know what size wrench ill need to do so? Also, on my 02 600, I had to remove the two axle pinch bolts on one fork leg and keep the other two axle pinch bolts tighten in order to remove the axle. From what I've read on my k8 manual, I loosen both axle pinch bolts to remove the axle or is it same removal process as my 600?

Loosen the pinch bolts on the right side of the bike (left side when looking at the bike from the front) then take out the axle bolt not sure what size the head is right off. Then loosen the pinch bolts on the left side of bike (right side if looking from the front of the bike). Remove the brake calipers then pull the axle out.

I'm pretty sure it's the same procedure as your 600. All the Suzuki procedure does is allow them to sell you an otherwise unnecessary hex socket tool.

And it's a 22 mm.

Sorry to OP not trying to jack a thread but my question is pretty damn close/similar(better than starting a new thread right?:dunno). What is the size of the nut on the REAR axle, need to loosen this puppy in order to tighten the chain. I don't currently have an adequate socket for the job but have a gift card to sears that needs to be spent. It looks pretty damn big though my crescent wrench won't even go over it.

Doesn't say in the Service Manual, has the acceptable chain slack measurements and the torque specs for the rear axle nut but not the size.:banghead

I know this one,36mm is the correct size:biggrin
