O2 sensor bung on 06/07/08 headers...

I read in another thread in this forum that the new headers on the '08 had the "large" O2 bung that the early '06 headers had. But unfortunately I just tried putting on a stock '06 header on my '08 750 and my O2 sensor is WAY smaller than the hole on the '06 header. Can anyone else confirm this?

Now I have to repurchase another 06/07 header with the "small" O2 sensor bung. Anyone know exactly which headers I need so I don't make that same mistake again.

Get a header that's not from CA.. those do not have o2 sensors.. Mine came from TN I think.. No o2 bung.. Clip #5 wire on ECU.. done.

Won't riding without the O2 Sensor change the running characteristics of the bike? ALL the headers came with O2 sensor holes. It's just the ones NOT from California had a little plug in the hole.

If you want to run Motty or Badazz Fi you will need to bung.

I am would recomend cutting it off the bung and welding a smalled nut to it or seal it off and drill a hole and weld nut slightly down stream. let me know how u make out as i wana do the same mod

You read the thread incorrectly.

The 06/07 hole is the correct size for the BAZZAZ or PCV O2 sensor, not the stock 08/09 sensor.

I know this is an old post but if anyone wants to convert there heads to the 06 heads they have adapters for this conversion i have done it. U need a m181.5mm/m121.25mm 02 sensor adapter..

You can order the adaptor from Akrapovic. They have a new office in Irvine, CA. I wouldn't weld anything to it, as the adaptor just screws in and allows you to run a PC or Bazzaz later. Just my $.02
