Well...

You have two options, really--one of them is the best option:

1.) Sand blast the oxidation layer off of the aluminum and paint the pegs with a hi-temp metal paint. Two or three coats should be good with an appropriate curing time between each coat. A durable bake-on paint is probably best.

2.) Have the units powder coated. This is your best option. They can powder coat in an almost infinite array of colors.

I sprayed a primer on them first, waiting in between coats, then I repeated the same for black. Here's my bike if you wanna take a look at how they came out. Not really sure how durable they are since I got them done a month ago, LOL! Hope this helps :punk

Cheap and easy? Primer them and spraint paint them suckers...flat black...few coats...if it starts chipping from passengers, grab a small paint brush and cover them with the same spray paint...nothing compared to powder coating, but hey...less than 10 bucks...only part you will have to worry bout is the grip where she puts her foot down at and scrapes it away...
