i have a 99 gsxr 600 untill yesterday i thought the clutch was going out but when i replaced it it looked perfect after i put it back together the clutch lever would not dissengage so after some fiddeling and reinstalling the clutech 3 times now it will engage and dissengeage but it will not dissengage fully when it is puleed all the way in the bike still wants to move forword (as it did before i put the new clutch in) i have not riden it but if it is doing the same thing as before i replaced it then it will slip when i get it under a good amount of load

yea that is how i got it to be ingaged a little bit when the clutch is pulled all the way in (enuf to stall the bike out) and to slip when the bike is moving now when i give it some gas it takes presure off the clutch and does not slip untill the rpm's come down

Hi Outcast, do you have a factory manual? I think perhaps it could tell you how to set all this up better than we can, so if you don't have one, e-mail me at scott__yim@hotmail.com, and we can work something out to get you a copy of the information. I have the factory manuals for 96-2003 on CD, and am more than willing to send or e-mail them for a few dollars. Let me know if you need them, and we can work something out.

i have both the service manual and the factory manual but the directions in it lack from what i can see the clutch is on right i dont think it is the clutch at all i think that it has something to do down the line i am just looking for ideas about what else it could posibly be besides the clutch

ahhh got it fixed last night and all the ajustments made thismorning what it was is the plates in the clutch were sticking together so i had to take it all back apart and reinstall it then ajust the cluch adjustment and it all threw the idel off so it was a mixture of things i hope that helps if anyone else has this problem

cheers for posting the solution up.
one thing id recommend is soaking the clutch plates in oil over night before fitting, would have avoided any sticky business.....
