I recently picked this bike up and it had been sitting for several years. Got it running and finally had some decent weather to ride it up the block to see how it ran. I started it, it was smoking like crazy. Filled the entire shop up but I figured it might be some of the old gas going through the injectors or fuel lines. I thought I heard a slight knock but couldn’t tell for sure.
The smoke started to clear up, so I jumped on it, rode it about 50’, turned around and it started sounding really weak. I got off and notice some oil dripping and was tracing it back and noticed the sight glass was almost pure white (signs of a blown head gasket). At this time, the bike made a loud knock noise and shut off. I’m assuming it spun a bearing or something like that because it won’t start and the starter seems like it’s seized against the flywheel. Kind of a bummer because the bike only has 3300 miles on It.
I’m debating on selling it as is or putting some money into it to get it back and running again. Is this a common thing for these bikes?
