ok, here i am cruisin along at about 48 to 50mph in a 45mph zone. i'm on a long straight deserted backroad. i look in my mirror and see some new red impala (i think) with very dark tinted windows about 8 to 10 feet from my back tire. i'm thinking, what the hell is this guys problem? i motion for him to back off, he doesn't. i then motion for him to go around me, cause i'm already going over the speed limit. he doesn't. i finally get irritated and give her some juice, and try and get some distance from this idiot. i check my mirror again to see him coming on quick with his dash board blue lights on. unmarked state trooper!! i pull right over. he gets out and says "not too smart fella". he then gives me 2 tickets. one for speeding and one for wreckless driving. WTF kinda shit is that. now i have to go to court, all because this prick wouldn't get off my ass. complete bullshit!! :mad

That definitely deserves some complaints. It's basically entrapment, since his tailgating then ignoring your requests to pass or back off made you take an action that you normally wouldn't. You may get lucky with the magistrate/judge/DA, or they may be assholes too. It all depends.

I almost had the same thing happen with the FHP's unmarked "aggressive driving/road rage task force" vehicle one day. The fucker flew up within 2 yards of my back tire and hung there for a little bit, then made a pass so close I could have reached over and tapped on his window. Something didn't feel right, so I just sorta froze and held my line ready to hit the gas. When he got alongside and was easing past I noticed the uniform. I guess they look for road rage by going around trying to cause it.

it makes no sense. if he wanted to pull me for the 50mph in the 45mph zone, why didn't he just turn his lights on. i would would have gladly pulled over, because that's not a really big deal. i mean damn, the one day i'm just out for an evening cruise to relax, not feeling like gunning it, is the day i get a wreckless driving ticket. what a fuckin tit wanker!! :mad

he wanted you to take off...the guy is a fuck, and deserves a punch in the throat..and with stunts like that he'll get one.

shoulda just started slowing down til you were doing 40 and saw if he was gonna go around or plow you, then change lanes. Yes, that was basically entrapment.

Assuming that you are telling the truth without bias (which is highly doubtful) the officer was probably doing his checks on your plate and the Registered owner (presumably you), he may not have even had the intention to pull you over if nothing came up. Him being to close to you (again I will give you the benefit of the doubt) is not proper, however, pulling the bike over to the shoulder would be the safer (read: more legal) way to handle the problem.Truth is he most likely didnt come that close to your ass, you probably weren't doing 45-48, and to the guy who suggested you take your clean record to court, its probably not clean.

so, you're basically calling me a liar. I WAS GOING 48 & 50mph, and if he needed to check my tag, or was having trouble reading it, all he had to do was turn on his lights, and i would have pulled over. there was no need to ride my ass, (and yes he was within 10 feet of my back tire or this mess would have never happened) for several miles especially in an unmarked car with tinted windows. i had no clue it was a cop and no reason to pull over , and i have no reason to lie, so thanks for the rush of harsh judgement on someone you don't even know. and yes my record is clean. i have absolutley nothing on it. also pulling over to the shoulder was not much of an option, considering i was on a small 2 lane road, lined with trees & ditches on both sides with a car right on my ass. thanks for your support.

Common Starsky, not like police retain the most integrity of the populace!!
I've met a couple good police officers and I say a couple but then I've also met a rash of absolute shitheads to include a cheif of police who claimed that I had brought my 1973 Chevelle Malibu(which was down a cylinder ie we pulled the lifters for cylinder number 5 as the result of 90% leakage within that cylinder) up to 110 mph in the span of approx. 100 feet with a stock engine!!! When the leadership is fucked up how difficult is it to tell that the subordinates are also fucked up?? Not very, as I also encountered some of the subordinates one of which happened to be screwing a high school girl that I knew and he was married (no the girl wasn't legal and she liked to brag, plus he showed up to a party we had that she was at, got to love Clovis PD)!!

You might be doing the right thing and if you are I appluad you for doing your duty but with the encounters that I and many others have had with law enforcement it is understandable why we would have a distrust and a sour taste for them. I've been pulled over on my bike just so they could check to make sure that I had my liscence and crap. I understand that maybe they might have been pulling me over to try and reduce bike theft which is cool and I have no problem with that but to be followed numerous times with the bumper from a patrol vehicle damn near shoved up my ass is not cool, not safe and absolutly inappropriate(especialy Copperas Cove Dept which seemed to get their Jollies off of doing that)!!!!

I filed a complaint once, ill never do it again. It ruined a really good hang out spot, the cops were relentless afterwards.

Just something to think about.

The number of dirtbag cops far out number the good cops. The cops that are cool are really cool and those that bad are really bad; no in between. I find that those that are not cool typically are automatic in their defense of their bretheren and will assume you lie when telling your side of the story; especially one that delivers a negative connotation of law enforcement.

You have to realize that the system is out to get your money. Where ever there is preceived power there will always be abuse. This is from cop to judge. Law enforcement was intented to protect us and uphold the law but has decided take advantage of fruits that capitalist system has to offer. There are a lot of people with a lot of money so that usually translates finding ways to get that money (your money); aka, hefty fines, quotas, ect.

More cops will mean more taxes and higher fines to cover the increased demand.

If keeping bad drivers off the road was the primary concern they would simply impose a point system, take away licenses, or put those bad drivers in jail. Instead, if you have money, it has turn into 'give me that money' and you can pass 'go'. Sounds like a socially evolved form of legalized piracy to me.

on a side note, i wouldnt of pulled over for a unmarked car, i dont care how many lights he had flashing...fuck'em...

I can understand when people want to go somewhere populated to pull over for an unmarked. But I'm sure that really enrages the egotistical prick type cops. Like the video of the trooper that pulled his gun and yanked the woman out of the car because he didn't think she pulled over fast enough.

At least things like that get some of those pieces of shit out of the field and into McJobs where they belong.

We have one cop in town who definitely hates Sport bikes... I created a thread about one incident before:
http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107146

But since then I have heard more stories about this cop.... the last one happened to me.

I pulled into the gas station. Both outside pumps where being used so I pulled into the 1 car island. As I am pumping gas a green van pulls into the island RIGHT beside me and my bike. Too close for comfort for me. I was going to say something to him till he stepped out, wouldn't you know it, it’s yours truly. He stands there and reads my license plate, then goes into the store... didn't even get gas. What a jerk.

I do agree with tsutxn02 and COP349, can't paint all cops with one brush, like some cops do to us sport bike riders

Damn Starsky pretty rough around the edges there. Hey man get a lawyer cause the judicial system isn't always fair. The cops and the judges tend to stick together a lawyer helps to balance that out alot. Plus he can't get you for speeding if he got you for wreckless.

I'd file a complaint and you can justify your reason for accelerating a tad bit since he was on your ass. For all you knew it was just some crazy driver.
