I can't see to figure out how to get the front fairing off as I have a new right side that I am replacing. Everything is very easy with the exception of the bracket that at the bottom of the front of the bike that holds the left and rear together. It has two small plastic screws that you simply push in the middle but they don't work. Also there is a big plastic thing in the middle that I assume should come off as well and can't figure that out either and don't want to force or break anything. Any help here would be appreciated.

Be carefull .....Ha i broke that big 1 when i was taking it off for paint.....ididnt get them back yet i idk what i'm gunna do when i go back 2 put it back together yet:scratch

The outer 2 are just the regular push pins found everywhere else on the bike. The bigger one in the middle is a pin that has to be removed with a small flathead screwdriver. If you get under the bike you'll see what I'm talking about. There's a little slot where you can wiggle in the screwdriver and pry out the pin.

I see all the pins the push pins I cant get off as I push them in and the center piece does not come out as it is is stuck or something? I have been told that there is no need to mess with the center as I am only trying to pull off one side. I spend about 30 minutes last night trying to get off the one push pin and can't. This is utter hell and I don't want to break anything.

Mine pops right on and off. Ive had my fairings off probably 6 or 7 times.

That metal tab on the bottom that those 3 plugs go in to slides in and out of slots on the fairings if I remember correctly. Its been about a year since I took mine off. All I did was pop the 3 pins out under the air duct, the pin on the top of the air duct, the couple allen bolts on the top of the fairing, the big pin on the bottom that requires the screwdriver like OG said and the push pin there.

There is also a tab on the inside of the fairing that pushes into a rubber gromet in your frame. You have to tug on it to get it to pop out.

Then depending on the side you may have a wire harness stuck onto a tab inside the fairing so dont go yanking it right away.

That should be it. Thats going by memory and not looking at the bike.

If you're getting mad and irritated at it you're just going to break something. Its not that difficult to get off. Just take your time and think it through. I dont know why you cant get it off.

the 2 outer ones sometimes pick up sand/dirt and thats why they wont push out. they are cheap. I keep a couple around as backups, but have gotten to where I dont break em much.<<push the middle with another flathead >> I use the hex driver that I just used to take out the top allen screws, applies nice even pressure.

:spit

That is my fav image. :D I always look for a reason to use it :lol

Do yourself a favor if you work on your own bike. Throw the metal bracket and big push pin in the garbage, you don't need it. Take the two smaller pins and keep them as spares. Use a couple of zip ties on that bottom front section instead. Nobody will see your little zip ties so don't get your panties in a wad. My bodywork has been off and on too many times to count for trackdays, oil changes and so on. Why fool around with that stupid, useless metal piece?
