Hi ppl I have a problem, recently boufht a 1989 gsxr 750 Sling shot that was running rough at low revs so I took carbs off and seeen that the air/fuel mixture screws were goosed so I put 100 katana carbs on and used all the interals of my 750 carbs, bike stqarted firt kick then started spluttering and dies after a few minuts renewed spark plugs cleaned out carbs renewed fuel tap and checked for drawing air bike starts up fine and runs good for a few minutes then splutteres does not take revs and dies and to start it again I have to crank her over for 2-3 minutes on full throttle and then hold the throttle on full for a while uwith it just ticking over on full throttle and after a while it revs to the limiter?.

Now that's gotta be a neat trick. How did you get a kick starter on that???

I think you're mongrel carbs are probably not working right. You can't really do what you did and expect everything to fit properly. Generally speaking, you can't really switch slidein the same rack af carbs let alone going between different types. I'd start with getting the proper (or similar) carb setup first as it sounds like the most likely thing to be causing the problem.

I have a set that are rebuilt with all new rubber parts. I ultrasonically clened them and have not yet reassembled them to keep the rubber part sealed in bags and fresh. I suspect that the float o-rings were dead on your original carbs and the 750 will not run on the carbs from the bigger bike because the emulsion tubes are different
