jeeeez whats wrong with the designers these days? there was a time when a new model meant a NEW model...look at the changes over the years...going from the k3 600-k4 600-k6 600 etc...all definable changes..i hope that pic is wrong...ok it looks fine its a gsxr after all...but cant help thinking its a cop out and just another daft looking exhaust with minimal body shape change.....i hope its wrong

But I hope the midrange power will be the same as the K7, The K5 had a huge midrange but if you take the Cat off the K7 it has a huge mid power to.

remember the K7, i gained a few kg's after the K5.
But only the cat weights 6 kg's.
Take it away and mount some good aftermarket pipes and it will lose at least 7 kg's

Yeah, but doesn't the Honda's cat weigh something too? Swapping the exhaust on the Honda will lower its weight further.
FWIW, the cat is located so low on these bikes, I'm not sure weight reduction in that area has much affect anyway!
