I have a 03 gsxr 1000 and havent had any problems out of it until left work and stopped at part store and when I came out wouldn't start. I can rule out the kick stand switch, clutch switch, I swapped ecu's with my 04 gsxr 1000 and still same thing. It was showing 042 the switch or something so I swapped switch and now is has the other bikes ecu and switch and code shows c00. When I turn switch on the butterflys flutter a little and makes somw noise and I hear a click like relay. Also tested fuses there good. Any help I appreciate

service manual is #1.. you can jump the side stand and clutch switch I believe to troubleshoot those, C42 is ignition switch I believe, maybe clean that up see what's what, inspect all your wiring and connectors up front, slight tear down of front end

i swapped the switch from my 04 with the ecu to that bike and had code c00 so i wouldnt think it is wires

you swapped the ECU with your 04 and it what? cured the problem or persisted? if it persisted then why couldn't it be the wiring, working ECU didn't cure it..

all you really got flipping ECUs was a different code, as to be expected the new ECU had no codes registered, get it running and ride it will prolly spit codes, again, check wiring, connectors, clean and pack with dielectric, cant hurt..

then put it in dealer mode and see if its registering any codes, use the ECU that was in it when it began, you are going to have to systematically troubleshoot and by way of process of elimination and or testing determine where the fault lies..

turning on the key and if you butterflies are gunky good start right there, a LOT of that lately prolly 80% of all issues lately is that, 70%, STVA and the idle controller

I say check your wiring and connectors as C42 is ignition, so focus about that area for sure, maybe spray some cleaner down into the ignition? check connections for bad pins, corrosion, bad wire...

Where's the click coming from? Remove the seat and check if it's coming from the starter solenoid. Can you hear the fuel pump prime? Make sure that your battery is OK. It should be easy to walk through the starter system diagram on 9-11 of the service manual with a multimeter. However if the butterflies flutter and it makes some noise there ought to be power to the ECM (the O/W lead). If additionally the starter solenoid is clicking (confirmation needed), about all that is left is the battery, the 12 V cable from the battery to the solenoid, the cable from the solenoid to the starter, the starter, and the ground cable from the engine case to the battery.
