Sup all ... I was just wondering if anyone have problems starting the bike in the mornings or at night ... when my bike is cold in the morning , it takes me 3 or for 4 trys to get my bike to start especaly in cold weather 55 to 65 degress weather ... someone told me that it might be my battery . I havent repalced my batter since i bout the bike brand new so i bought a new batter 3 days ago and it still takes me 3 to 4 tries to start it .... Does it need a tune up maybe?

It's a 02 gsxr 750 and has 8000 miles on it ...

Thanks for any help!!

pull the plugs and check them otu see what they look like

and how cold is cold?
Actually i changed the spark plugs, changed the air filter, oil change, lubbed the throttle cable, replaced the brake fluid front and back, drained and changed to coolent ... i wanted it ready for this riding season ....

The spark plugs looked normal but i changed it anyways ...

This is how it goes in the morning ... i start the bike and turns on for like 2 seconds then dies ... does that 3 or 4 times then it starts up ... I live in Las Vegas and te temps now its bout 55 to 65 degress in the mornings ... Is that normal for a bike to start up? I always thougt it was but when a riding buddy of mine told me that his bike never has any problems starting up in the mornings ... I started to wonder why mine does that

you may have a electric chok problem. i have a 03 and my bike fires first try everytime just cranks over about 4 times then fires and runs. when u try to start to u wait for the fuel pimp to shut off or do u crank while its still whining?

Ohhh ... never thougt of the electric chok .... I wait till for the whinning noise to stop, then I turn her on.

I'll look into the chok ... i honestly didnt know it had one ... lol ...

Thanks for the help!!

mine does the oposite fires up runs at 2 k kicks down to 1200 and stays there id look into the choke but try adjustin the idle this can be done be lift the tank the 2 allen bolts at the front of the tank then the tank with pivot up fron the front of the bike to towards the rear. you will see the knob at the end of the throttle linkage

I havent had any troubles firing up on the first crank. Had my bike in Colorado where I would ride year round (except in the snow). Sometimes it would be below zero and no problem. Back in Hawaii now and its still the same. Even if I let her sit for a while. ..she fires right up, first crank. Just saying that I dont think its normal to have to crank it a few times to start it.

It always "catches," but after a few rotations stalls out. I always put it off as the electric choke being slower to activate when its cold. I had my bike in CO too, and this is when it had the most trouble. It always fired, and stayed running the third time.

ya , thats what it excatly does on my bike .... i tried to adjust the idle on it ... and it works but the idle is now about 2000 rpm .... i think thats a bit to hight eh? ....

So i guess I just have to change the electric choke?
Is it hard to replace? or can I do and adjustment?
