Hey everybody,

light came on yesterday on the way to work, everything felt normal. It’s a GSXR 600 k8.
After work bike wouldn’t start.
I managed to jump start it today, left it running for a bit, sd light came on again. Now the bike is dead. When I turn the key a lot of stuff appears (see picture) but after a couple of seconds it dies completely. Haven’t tried jumpstarting it again as I’m stuck at work for another couple of hours.Considering my options here, I’ve read a few threads and saw that this could be due to a number of things

The steering damper code does pop up when the battery is failing. Sounds like yours is at its end. Get it replaced before it damages something

You may have bigger problems. Failing to start and jump starting it sounds like a faulty or undercharged battery. Your charging system, stator or R/R, may be failing. Suggest that you use the service manual to check things.

You didn't provide any details but note that cars have much more powerful starting systems. Jump starting from a car can damage a bike.
