Pictures from Club Motorsports in Tamworth, NH from June 13 & 14. Part of the Fishtail Riding School group. Pictures by John Owens Photography. Had 2 great days & learned a lot.
Thanks - I know. My instructor pointed out several areas for me to work on, that being one. He also videoed me for an entire session; and then we sat down and "critiqued". On the bright side, not too bad for only my 3rd & 4th track days ever; and me being 66 1/2 years old. Thanks again. PeterWe can clearly see the full exhaust system ;-)
Just a piece of advice. On the last picture, your external leg and foot are not in full contact with the bike. This is the key. With the lower body, you must feel that you lean the bike with the external leg, not by putting pressure on inside peg. That is why it is important to have the best contact with the bike.
Tank grip (Stompgrip i.e.) will help to increase friction with leg for better contact and this will result to relax all your upper body and you will feel so much comfortable when leaning. Knee dragging will be a formality![]()
Oh yeah........ loving the bike.looks like big fun!
Bike had an aftermarket can on Black Widow headers when I bought it; and it was an ugly exhaust IMO (attached) - so no OEM muffler option nor interest. Is there anyway for you to fit the stock can back on when at that track? Not very restrictive at all but does a great job bringing down the sound. I can’t imagine not being able to use the whole RPM range because of sound.
Good to know re Palmer. Will be there in August, no silencer in my Akra (will bring it though).I go to all of those tracks. Palmer does have sound limits and I’ve seen some really loud bikes out there, like supermotos with full exhausts. I’ve been there 50 times and have not personally seen anyone get in trouble. I’ve heard stories thats all. Ive taken my 2017 1000 with full yosh and had no problems.
I usually ride with the Akra MotoGP (no dbkiller possible), with OEM Catalyzer, which produces 106dB(a) at 1 meter (6000rpm). Earplugs are advised for trip longer than 20minutes…Good to know re Palmer. Will be there in August, no silencer in my Akra (will bring it though).
One rider black flagged & booted out today for noise. All other bikes no issues. Heavy rain now, sooooo........ day may be done.Update for you. Now I have seen several people get warnings at Palmer. My buddy just got told today not to “scream it out” on the straight!
