99 srad 750 won't rev past 4k except for when I first start it

hey guys I desperately need your help just bought this 750 for 400 bucks ordered new fairing etc but I want it to run right before I sink any more money in it any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

400$ runner + 400$ fairing kit, 800$ deep? After chain, sprockets, brake lines / pads and tires your another 500$ deep, so overall ~1300$ ... Not bad for a running FI srad.

So your title topic is the fact it won’t go over 4K rpm after it’s warmed up. What happens in detail?

when I first fire it up it revs out fully then starts cutting out or something if I flip the Killswitch off and back on again while riding it it will rev higher for a min but then goes back to running like crap and if I open the throttle all the way it just sputters and pops sorta

Pick a thread. I replied to your other thread on how to adjust your idle. The scenario your describing here is different.


Does the problem go away when you prop the tank and take the airbox off? Can you hear your fuel pump prime and operate ?


I believe I’ve confused myself with going between the two different threads you made.

Are you saying while moving and actively riding you flip the red kill switch? Effectively toggling the pump to prime? If so.... why would you do that?
