Whats going on people.

Ok so I went to install my Driven front sprocket 17t and notice that the sprocket has a nice amount of play between the face of it , the washer and the nut. Is this the wrong sprocket it doesn't have a raised edge at the center either. And my bike is a 04 1000.

I can check my OEM sprocket but as best I know a 530 sprocket should be 3/8" thick with no raised center. There should be a washer on the outside between the sprocket and the nut. I wonder if you're missing something.

The loose sprocket in the video is marked SF032. I'm fairly sure it's made by Volar and is very low quality.

OK i will check the thickness tomorrow. I do have the washer and nut the washer is very thin . When I tighten the nut up by hand the sprocket can slide towards me atleast 1/4 in or maybe close to it.

Spacer #42 sets the distance between the drive shaft bearing and the sprocket. I show it as 25 mm long. It also works with #31 to seal the crankcase. I originally included it in my post above but took it out as it's hard to believe that it's not there, i.e. the sprocket would move inwards to the end of the splines without it and the seal wouldn't function. Also I believe the OD has a ground finish. That's nothing to be fabricated unless you have a tool & die shop. My info says the #46 outer washer thickness is 1.4 mm (.055").

Ok bill thanks , I probably could make something i work in a machine shop with cnc lathes, but I will look for it or buy a new one. I wonder if thats the reason the chain popped off on the guy I bought the bike from awhile ago, because the seal looks new and undamaged.

^Just buy one if you need it. I show it as less than $20. I suspect that it's made of hardened steel. It will be really strange if it's missing. I'd be looking over the whole bike if it is. You should be able to see a ≈ 5 mm gap between the drive shaft and the seal ID if the spacer is missing.

I may have misspoken about the spacer length. It's listed as 25x36x18.6. The 25 is probably the ID and 18.6 is the length.

Seven red flags just went up right there!!

'I wonder if thats the reason the chain popped off on the guy I bought the bike from awhile ago,'

I'd be totally suspect of any bike, from an owner that can't even maintain their bike/chain enough to at very least- keep it from throwing a chain!!

ANY properly maintained chain- ANY chain- should never 'come off'. It ain't that hard. But yes, does require some occasional, simple maintenance.

If they weren't keeping up with that- the whole bike is then suspect IMO.

Have you been riding it w/o this spacer? Wasn't it leaking oil?
