hey guys, new to forum. i am currently looking for a sport bike. Have looked at 600cc but hear you need to rev them a lot. i will be using this bike for commuting mostly. then someone mentioned a gsxr 750. a dealer near me has a newly traded in 2013 with 12k miles. Are there any specific known issues with this year bike i need to look for? Was considering a 1000cc, but trying to save on insurance and don't really think i need liter bike for commuting. By the way, i currently own a Honda CB1000R.

The lack of response is your answer. The silence is deafening. Suzuki have perfected the GSX-R 750. I don't know of any issues or problems... it's a turn key bike.. and the best street bike money can buy in my opinion. The only reason to go to the liter bike is ego... if that matters to you.

I think you can choose a better commuter. There are so many good upright bikes out there, and it will make commuting much more pleasant. The GSX-S750 or 1000/1000F are upright versions of the R-series, but they still handle well and are tuned to make more torque in usable ranges for street purposes, and this makes them better street bikes that will still rip up the corners. Same thing with the FZ1, the FZ-09, or the FZ-10. Or, a Suzuki B-King if you can find one.

I think the GSX-R 750 is probably the best street bike of the R-series, but I'd take any of the above over any of the GSX-R models if I were looking to commute mainly and have fun on weekends.

Front brake master cylinder, make sure the recall has been done as it effects 2004-2013 600/750's and 2005-2013 1000's.
