I have riden the CBR600 on the track, it's a fantastic bike so smooth and handles great. I'll still go for the GSXR however because the CBR is so small/tiny for road use.
It did seem rather smallish when I rode it too. The bike I rode was even lowered a bit, I attributed it to that, but I agree it definitely is a smaller fit than the gixxer. I'm 6'1"ish 220lbs and fit great on the gixxer.

Another thing I noticed about the CBR is that it's more of an "in" the bike feel like gsxr as opposed to "on top" of the bike feel you get from the r6

Having done 95% of all work on my 750 since I bought it(everything but tire changes)I dont think I will ever buy another motorcycle that isn't this easy to work on,not to mention the massive market for cheap parts is brilliant.

My K7 750 +1 tooth on the rear sprocket pulls a shit ton harder than my buddies 05 CBr 600rr which is also +1 tooth on the rear sprocket
That's probably due to it having 25% more power and torque.

That's a good possibility. Lol I don't really know the numbers behind the CBR, but obviously it's still a 600. I guess I'm getting spoiled. I took it out for a few good pulls and was a bit disappointed. Lol

Depending on mods, it's probably around 103-105whp and 40 ft-lb of torque, versus your 125-130ish whp and 55-58ft-lb of torque.

It really comes down to preference I own an l4 gsxr 750 and the only other sport bike ive ridden was an 08 gsxr 600 of my cousins. I still ride his every now and again and I notice the difference. But like I said its its what you like. I dont see myself going up to a 1000 or down to a 6. So its up to you. My inexperience and research say both as far as I can tell performance wise they are essentially the same

The Cbr is a smoother bike , easier to ride ... the gsxr is more raw , more aggressive though is more comfortable to sit on.

Iv owned both ... I like both , but if I had to own only one bike it would be the gsxr ;)

I've had both a 600 and a 750 and I would highly recommend the 750. The six wasn't a bad bike but you had to be above 10K to feel the torque/power kick in. It's not a slow bike at all, but the price difference is negligible and it leaves room for you to grow on the 750. As for the CBR, it's tough to tell which one is better unless you ride both. I'm sure the Honda is comfortable, but I could definitely ride for hours on a Suzuki seat with no issues. Best to see if you can do a test ride and then report back. At the end of the day, I think the comfort will be the deciding factor. Power is subjective and both bikes will be faster than most cars on the road.

Y'all realize this thread is from August last year, so likely OP already bought whichever bike and OP hasn't been here since 08/04/2017??

I dont really want a R6.. heard they were mostly track bickes and not so ideal for street. Although of course it can be riden on the street.
All sport bikes are track bikes my friend. The r6 is a beautiful machine with amazing top end power and handling. They are more aggressive riding posture compared to the gsxr or cbr though. Cbr is smooth power all the way through with less grunt than the gsxr. A tad bit higher seat but also lighter. They say the CBR is known for the feel of the road but are also kinda of a "soul-less" machine.

GSXR all the way. Although you will most likely be shit talked more than any other bike just because you are on a gsxr and thats what people do to us.

Go test ride the bikes and make your own decision, Either way you will be happy.

Hello all, i know this is a gixxer forum but i need help on choosing my next bike. I've been riding a ninja 300 for about 2 season now & i want to move up to a 600. The GSXR & the CBR are my 2 choices that I've narrowed it down to. A few things i would like to know is which is faster, better for street use, (probably will never be at a track) which has better low end and mid range and high end speed. Just things like that basically. I've looked on YouTube for help deciding but it is mostly nothing helpful there besides fanboys of each manufacturer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I had the Gixxer 600 and my mate the CBR. His had better top end than mine but mine was better down low. That’s just my experience. The best thing would be to find one and try them yourself. I’m biased anyway to suzuki but can concede that the Honda is a nice machine. I’m moving onto 1000 now, suzuki of course.

For what you'd asked for, either one will work just fine. Both superb machines but I slightly prefer the 600 gixxer. Has everything you'd mentioned but love the styling and lines of the Suzuki GSXR 600.
