another newb here.. lol I just purchased a high mount micron exhaust for my 05 gsxr 600.. i dunno everybody else has yosh pipes.. so tryin something different. I'm wondering if anybody else here has the same system as I do.. I heard you have to cut the head tube on the stock exhaust in order to install the system.. thought that was kinda wack but.. if anybody can give me a few tips or pointers.. thatd be kewl...

it is just like my devil exhaust, just get a sawzaw, and chop the oem header as per the directions with your exhaust. also, remember to take out your packing material that is in the mid pipe;

I have the Micron instructs from Micron in PDF... if you want em let me know, just don't tell Micron.

Thats the pipe for my winter project. Micron uses a pic of my buddies bike on their web site for the high mount.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

i have micron high mount and yes you do need to make a cut, not sure of exact measurement but it would be easier if you have electric saw to cut it, i didnt and it took alittle awhile to get through it b/c saw broke on us, but its very easy installation once you get done with that

hey just finnished putting the exhaust on.. it looks hella sick.. and it sounds so nice.. i compared it at idle between my friends bike and mine. he has an 05 gixxer also with a yosh trs bolt on and it sounds like mine is slightly deeper than his at idle. through the revs both sound about the same his just sounds a little more louder and mine would sound a little deeper. I'll try to find a way i can record both exhausts to distiguish the two. Thanks for all the help. and i'll post pics up soon.

$550!!! Paid waaaay to much. You can get for $450 from licensed retailer and $420 on eBay...

i ordered mine at www.micronexhausts.com you can probably find them cheaper on ebay.. but i'd rather order it strait from the company just for comfortnes.. I payed 550ish from micronexhausts.com

well originally its 450 from micronexhausts.com but i paid an extra 90 for next day shipping because i only had 2 days off from work the following days i ordered the pipe.. I didnt want them to ship the pipe and leave it in front of my door when i'm not home lol. Anyway thanks for the PDF FZshift! Here are the pictures

You did a nice job, duder! It looks great!

Pretty easy install, any tips you can give for the would-be or future installer?

yah dude.. the directions say to take out the whole exhausts system so that you have alot of maneuverability when making the cut. I just took out the rite fairing, put a sheet metal between the swingarm and the pipe so that when youre making the cut you dont do any damage to the swingarm. Also i used a radial air powerd saw to reduce time and labor. This is about the best advice i can give you to save alot of time and effort. other than that the directions are pretty straight foward.. pretty easy to follow. good luck on your future project!

Damn skippy ... like butter baby. And I took most of your advice but... left everything on except the rearset. I took my time with a handsaw.
