Dash/Speedo/ Tacho wiring

Hi,

Anybody know which PIN should I use to fire up Dashboard from 600 K6 on a bench? i would like to hook it up outside of the biek for testing... I tried R/Bl (Red bue i suppose) as for +12V and B/W(black white) for ground with no luck...

Looking at the wiring diagram (back of the service manual), it looks like the Red/Blue is power for the turn signal light.

I think the Orange/Green is power to the instrument package and Black/White is the ground. I don't know what pin that is but you can trace it from your plug.

Let us know if it works.

Well i forgot to put it here:

R/Bl is the wire I signed as +12V
B/W is the wire i signed as ground

Yesterday i also found 2 other wires that might work:

Br/Y - Propably ground (the second green)
O/G - Propably +12V (above the red one)

So basically it should be like this:

Any ideas about the Br/Y wire? it shows up just in the speed oso might be a ground...

I will check that today and will let you know, its handy to knwo such wiring stuff;)

Was the Orange/Green the power? I've traced it before but never confirmed it. Also, I see the backlight but no information (mileage, mph, etc)

BTW. You asked about the Brown/Yellow wire. Bikes in the US (E-03 models) don't seem to use this wire as it ends at the big plug in the nose according to the wiring diagram.

On European bikes it continues to pin 21 on the ECU and a pin-out chart I looked at said it was the "Ignition switch signal". Just a guess, but this might have something to do with the immobilizer they have in Europe but are not used here.

Don't be too hard on others. It is a pretty geeky subject without a lot of general application.

It's not the first question i Asked here with no result except for you and tomzilla...

Well you are right with the immo, i have US version so that is clear now:)

+12V is O/G
Ground is B/W

I needed this only to check how it went with changing the dash colours:) Basically it went better than expected:)

As for the data it can be done, best would be to check what signal goeas on 2 lines from ecou to the dash and emulate it on a bench:)
