I saw yours get sold, posplayr. Not a bad deal but I didn't really like the look of it..

The other one is perfect but way expensive for a refurb.

Anyone know about how much it might cost to get one refurbished at an upholstery shop?

.. in perfect condition.

It's worth a try, right?
Hey Jimmy,
It's Al from florida, I have a black corbin seat, that I stood up all night in a bidding war, my buddy had an86 1100 and he bought his when corbin was still making them and it fit and the color lines were perfect. I won mine on e-bay and the seller claimed it was in perfect condition, well I could not wait for it to come, I paid 400 for the seat and 50.00 for the shipping. It is stamped under the seat,it tells you who inspected it a has a serial number and It looks like shit on the bike, it is to fat and to puffy. I drilled out the rivets and shaved the foam, I,m sure it could be redone by a pro, but what a waste of money. What I liked about my buddys seat, he could take a girl for a ride, I always had the solo seat cowl on mine, because they look like a girls bike without the cowl. I contacted corbin and they didn't offer to redo it, they just said they no longer make them. Good Luck Al.

Hi Al! How are the new carbs treating ya? Did the seat you bought have a Corbin tag stitched into the upholstery too? While I hate branding and remove it all from my bikes, It is a tell tale sign of it being redone...
I too wanted a solo seat look that could carry a passenger. Corbin gunfighters always looked a little too puffy in the back and were way outside my budget.
Corbin actually started out here, in CT as Corbin-Gentry. So I brought my stock seat to Gentry (Corbins ex-wife) about 10 years ago. I gave her a second seat with the plastic solo cowl installed on it to use as a model. The result was awesome, exactly what I wanted. She charged me a meager $100!

Well some 40,000 miles later, it's starting to show it's age. A small tear has started in the nard area and it's starting to look a little lumpy, I think because the outermost layer of foam is degrading.
There are several different kinds of slabby Corbins out there. None of them seem to follow the lines of the tail well enough for me (to "puffy") One advantage the Corbins seem to have (that I'd really like to try) is the extra height and padding in the gonad area. The stocker is very low there and can pinch the sack on occasion, while the Corbin Gunfighter is very high in that area.

There's also the Lockhart-Corbin that's somewhere in between.

To make a long story even longer..
I picked up a beat-up old Lockhart-Corbin:

I'm going to bring it to my local upholstery guy with a solo seat as a model for the back. He says he'll redo any seat in any fashion for $200 bucks. I'll let ya know how it turns out...

Peace!
