I currently use a Speedohealer and dislike having to change the settings every time I change tires and gearing (race bike). I don't want to remove the speed sensor because it will not give me an odometer reading (I think). I found this

http://www.intellitronix.com/gps-sender.html

that has 3 wires like the GSXR speed senor and seems to be splice and play. I don't know if this will work with the stock GSXR dash (pulses per mile, voltage output, etc) and finding the suzuki info is difficult.

Any guesses if this is a viable solution? I know GPX, Starlane, or who ever makes a complete dash but I don't want to drop the $$ and have to wire it all up while possibly losing all my dash lights. I also would like not having a stand alone GPS that mounts to steering stem or over the dash unless it was small enough to cover just the speedo output.

The SpeedoHealer has a switchable dual output which may help a little. But probably not as much as you want if you're changing tires & gears a lot. The Suzuki uses close to 8000 pulses per mile but I'm fairly sure that it isn't exactly that and more likely is 5-10% off of that. Unfortunately the Intellitronix doesn't allow you to specify an arbitrary pulse rate. I think that the best that you could do would be to use the Intellitronix to supply the SpeedoHealer, which supplies the cluster. It sounds like there's an antenna that would need some careful positioning.

Overall it sounds like an interesting concept that isn't quite fully developed. Why don't you ask them what their output voltage levels are and how big is the antenna?

P.S. After rereading your post and thinking about this some more, it sounds like all you really want is a functioning odometer and don't care about the speedometer. If so, you may be fine with only the Intellitronix as, unlike the speedometer, the OEM odometer readings are quite accurate. Is that what you're really after as I'd think that you'd be more interested in speed than distance at the track? Even then IMO the Intellitronix really ought to have a way to adjust the pulse rate.

The K7/K8 OEM BT015 rear is listed as having a 24.7" O.D. With stock 17:43 gearing, the speedo sensor should be producing 8261 pulses/mile (8036 for K5/K6). Slippage will increase those values. So 8000 is in the ballpark but in need of a correction.

I rarely look at my speedo while on the track and just use RPM. If I sell the bike I'd rather not have to lie about the mileage and it's helpful for me in terms of maintenance reminders. I sent them an email about the pulses per mile not matching up but I didn't get a response so I'm waiting on the voltage output.

If it's 0-5 V I think I'll be golden unless the antennae is huge (planning on mounting where the marker light typically goes. If it needs to be straight up and down it might be to cumbersome to mount it. Thanks for the help!
