Okay, so i went and looked at a 98 SRAD 600 today... Been sitting for a bit, acccording to the guy it runs perfect however he couldnt find the plugs. I will make sure it does before i buy it. All fairings are there, needs cleaned up pretty bad. But the frame looks strait, tires look great. overall a 7/10, two negitives... slider pegs are rough and the gas tank is dented for stunts. He wants 500$ for it. My only concern is no title. I vin checked online and it came back clear, calling the police station to check vin tomorrow with them. So, now for my questions:
1. Is it worth more than $500 if it runs w/o title?
2. Will it be possible to get a title for it for the street?
3. Where can i get a title?
Thank you for any and all help.

dood, I bought one of those stunter project 600s I have spent easily over $2k getting it up to snuff, even though I was able to get it running with a good tank and carb cleaning it needed a lot of work
form everything to stripped and busted bolts, to wheel bearings, fork seals, coils, carbs, fastening hardware, wiring cleaning and protection, all sorts of stuff ram air boots float bowl pressure hoses and then tons of cosmetic stuff, new clock face, everything needed freshened up with paint, then I had to secure a body kit..
you have to know whats supposed to be there in order to know if the bike is complete, for some reason owners do a lot of jimmy rigging on these bikes to keep em going instead of just doing it right..
if its been left outside for a while you may go to remove a bolt and it snaps off, hosing may be eroded, wiring may be corroded and bad, switches may be bad or corroded, you cant really look at everything in a short amount of time..
the deal is when you but a bike like that be prepared to strip at down completely then go through every little part and piece inspecting everything and replacing everything you need to
ron ayers still has a lot of mounting hardware and what not for that bike but I will tell you used parts are not cheap off ebay or whatever, a used set of clip ons can cost you anywhere from $50-$70, ram air boots $50, rotors, $60, I just went ahead and bought most stuff new cuz it wasn't much more than used, you gotta bite the bullet if you want to do it right..
you can get a decent deal on some stuff you just have to wait and be patient, I waited over a year and finally got a decent lockset here from ccm for a good price, at least half the norm so don't expect to get it restored over night, took me 2 years for a good price on a good set of coils as well..
it takes time to get these bikes up to snuff depending on your standards..
for me it was way worth it for $300 and licensing I had something to ride after my 2k51k was stolen uninsured and no one wants to steal this one, not yet anyways, I suspect once I have the body work done it will be back on the market though, thinking about a very well hidden GPS system and some mercury filled .22 tips and just leave it at that, 2 gsxr1ks and a hayabusa stolen in the last 8 years is just too much for me I fear I may spend the rest of my life in prison if I catch a thief....
good luck on your project its worth it in the long run.. I think I seen that one on craigs, sheesh I rode mine with just a nose and tank for almost 2 years, I just fabbed a tail/blinker set up and just had the seat on the sub, good to go, even packed it down for a trip once...
