HELP! What is this?

I have a K9 750 with a full yoshimura R-55 system on it which was there when I bought it and I'm not too sure what this is.

Is it a pre-muffler to help minimize noise or is it a small cat to keep it street legal.
I know it's a bit of a stupid question But I can't figure it out.

Rear linkage? Swingarm cutoff switch?? A spring???

That is very BAD, you must take that off right now, or your bike will explode soon. It is a thrust can, it is used to add more thrust to the bike.. They are VERY dangerous and can act like a bomb. RIP it off NOW or else!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do sell a purge valve for it but the damn thing is $500 . The only way to purge it without the valve is to ride it wide open for exactly 15 min and 23 seconds . I saw a guy try to remove it after running it for 15 mins. wasn't pretty . He forgot the 23 seconds .

I need to use both, one eye for lookin at the picture and the other for lookin at the metronome, I like the rhythm method:bitchslap
