This isnt the first time it happens, when im passing on the small streets by my house the neighbors dog chases you while your riding, but today as I was riding slow through the small streets I was riding slow and a dog just pops out of no where and almost bites my leg, I was looking at a sing of a house for sale and when I turn there the dog is throws a bite at me. Got me pissed almost felt like kicking that damn dog in the face ! Dont you guys hate when your of guard and this happens ?

its in a dog's DNA to chase bike riders or be attracted to riders. my MSF instructor taught us this. the funny part was that it happened 24 hours later on my first ride out!

The last time a dog tried attacking my bike I was doing 35 mph. The dog succeeded in getting hit . Bent my brake rotor ,took out the front fender and cracked my right side fairing. Also almost broke my foot too . I'm thinking the owner had to put the dog down . :banghead

I guess that's one of the few perks of living in the city (not suburb) portions of Los Angeles. If a stray or lost dog were to be roaming around, it has to dodge many cars before it can even get close to biting my legs.

I hit a dog when I was younger, I was riding my Kawi 80cc dirtbike on the road. I was about 12 and riding my dirt bike around my block, that was my ride back then. I think I road the bike everywhere back then. Before I hear any BS from you guys. I taped a flash light to the handle bars, so it was street leagal.. LOL..

Anyway, this damn dog came booking out from this house and ran right in front of my bike, I nailed the dog doing like 40-45MPH? (not too sure how fast, but it seemed fast back then) and that dog went bouncing down the road with me right behind it, I ate some concrete as I slid face first down the road... I was soo pissed off at that dog and the owner for not having it on a leash. I just got up, ran back to the bike, push started it and ran off..

See what I mean dogs are a problem, I love them but hate them when they come attack you when your on your bike thinking we are some kind of strange creature to attack the world lmao

Dogs origionally hunted deer, moose and other large herbavores. I am guessing bikes are about the same size and the front wheels can resemble both front legs and rear wheel looks like both rear legs. Just a guess. I know mine loves to chase anything that goes fast. squirls, birds, other dogs, cats, runners, bikes, cars, cows, horses

Some breeds are herding dogs and its just instinct to chase anything that moves fast. And there's also prey drive that comes out too. That said, it's stupid owners that fail to imprint proper manners on their dogs reguardless of what they were bred to do.

I would love to see a vid of a cow actually moving somewhat fast please!

Here in the Deals Gap/Smokey mtns area, theres no leash laws and lots of dogs(we have 4 that run free, but we're up a deadend road w zero traffic and surrounded by 500 wilderness acres of family property). On top of that, many hunting dogs get let loose in early winter after it becomes apparent they don't hunt well.

I hit an 80lb lab/Pit bull mix at aprox 60mph back in 09. Killed him and sent me for yet another ambulance ride. Both rotator cuffs torn, collarbone, 7 ribs, etc. Didn't do the bike much good either. I've had countless close calls since. Then theres the bears, wild hogs, ground hogs, cows, etc.
