I just bought my first bike in July 2011, 2009 GSxR600 k9, It came with no manual. Just wondering if someone can please tell me the correct MPH each Gear has for EX. 1st gear = 0-12mph, 2nd gear = 12-18mph and so forth. atleast I think I have it right but I wanna make sure. I dont want to overedrive the gears. Thanks.

It depends what your doing. If your driving normally try to save gas or whatever shift at like 4K-5K and be in 6th above say 50.

It takes time to get used to but you figure out what works best for your riding. Even on a 600 the gear selection doesn't necessarily matter a whole lot if your just riding normally. I pass cars in 6th at 50-55 with absolutely no problem.

1st is 1-4mph
2nd is 5-78.2
3rd is 78.2-79
4th is 79-104
5th is 104-300
6th is 300+

Other good info in the manual you're missing is: parking brake engagement, activating the winch, and the part numbers if you want to order the reverse package (reverse is nice for when you let the valet park it).

There is no set speed for each gear. Not trying to be a dick here, but if you have to ask that question you should not be riding a race replica street bike.

a dollar for everytime this question was posted up! go get yourself a user manual or go buy a ninja 250 instead of that 600 you just got.

:facepalm

Really? If you have such little experience that you don't even know when to shift, you really should not have gotten a 600. You need to sell the 600, take the MSF course, and get a 250 to learn on.

250? Fuck that go learn to drive a manual transmition vehicle first then get a 50cc mini bike

Amen to that!

There is no answer to your question. It depends on the situation.

I suggest you either get to a track and learn how to ride that bike or sell it and get something smaller to learn on. :)

Obviously anyone telling to either sell the bike or return it is pointless because we all know you won't listen.

You made a mistake in buying that bike as your first. My suggestion for you is to park it in the garage and go take the MSF before you either injure/kill yourself or someone innocent on the road.

Also, I hope to GOD you have all your gear at least.
